Update Issues - Otherwise OK

I have used TurboTax for years. These past two years returns, for 2019 & 2020 both provided challenges with filing. Once the returns were completed, program updates were required prior to filing. I experienced numerous issues with failed updates.

The process is extremely easy; iit was easy to navigate the requirements of filing both a federal and state tax return.

Switching my screen resolution at startup and final payment was very confusing and only discovered by other random posts found on the internet. This version of the software combined with a new laptop purchased this year was very problematic. The problem being the software development and not my new laptop. I can only imagine the programming and testing of this version of TT over zoom calls with your developers. Thanks Covid 19 you shined a light on a very poor team which developed this years TT.

TurboTax Problems

How can you have software that lets you complete Federal and State return - let you go through the process of paying to file state return then fails to complete transaction. It give you an error message that a interest/dividend payer has too many characters in its name. However you can't edit of delete the problem, you must start over completely. That is a no go - may need to look at other products.

We are in our late 80s. Having been using Turbo Tax for many years and find Turbo Tax makes preparing our own taxes doable. Thank you and God Bless. We will continue using Turbo Tax as long as we are able.

State filing needs fix

Unable to file NYS tax electronically since Fed was not accepted. Kept getting rejected because AGI amount on Fed for prior year was incorrect. Checked what the IRS had on file and the amount I was using was what they showed. Tried to submit several times with correct amount but kept getting rejected and thus the state filings were rejected. So filed all by mail. NYS requires electronic filing of taxes. Need to be able to override to electronically file state taxes.
