Disclose e-file fees for State earlier!

Need early disclosure of fees to e-file State. $25 fee wasn't disclosed until AFTER bank information and driver's license information was entered and then I needed to backup many screens to start over.

Don't plan on returning

My computer died after I started doing my return and when I went to install it on my new computer I was unable to do so without changing my display resolution in between EACH step of the process. It took over an hour to complete this, and then I had to repeat this process when I needed to purchase a second state tax form, since I live and work in different states. I chose not to e-file my state taxes because I didn't want to deal with that process to pay for e-filing two different state returns.

Tax software is only marginally easier to use than its analog counter part. The upside is that it will tell you when something doesn't look right, however, it won't tell you how to fix said issue. It's also frustrating that, if you're married, it asks you questions on the front end regarding how best to file (joint vs. separate), but in the end, it tells you the best way to file is exactly how you told it you *thought* you should file, so what's the point of this survey? If this question is asked at all, a better place to put it is at the end when you've filled out all pertinent information, at which point, the software could tell you which option would save you the most. But then the programers would be required to create something more sophisticated than what is ultimately a highly specialized PDF generator.
Will this save you some time? Probably. Is said time worth more than what you paid for the program? That's up to you to decide. However, I will say that if you have multiple tax filers in your household or plan to run multiple tax scenarios, then it's probably worth paying for the software--definitely easier than jumping through hoops with the online version, which doesn't allow you to downgrade versions if you decide to test one out, btw, and a bit faster than filling out multiple paper copies.
