It is always a great program. updates before you start. The personal self made PIN number should have a pop-up...this is NOT your assigned IRS Identity protection Personal Identity Number

TurboTax Ease of Use Not Like Previous Years

Turbo Tax 2020 seemed to go into a loop when analyzing and reviewing the completed tax forms. Eventually, I had to manually go to the next step, which was Smart Check. For me, this was quite unnerving and reduced my confidence in the Turbo Tax 2020. Second, Turbo Tax 2020 would not accept Vanguard's street address on the 1099-R form, which is a P.O. Box in El Paso, Texas. Eventually, it did and let me continue to the next step.

When you efile, one of the questions relates to AGI. The program asks each taxpayer filing jointly to confirm AGI. However, the number automatically provided by Turbo Tax is the total joint income even though the question asks for each to confirm the total. What if one party earned all the income? For joint return, the question should ask for total not by individual name.

Works well, but re-ordering questions is welcome

The software works well. Some sections should be reviewed for the sequence in which they are presented. For example, the stimulus check questions came at the end of "guide me," right before the State taxes, well after the income section was completed. The application of refund to next year's taxes should avoid the message indicated we are "rare" that we neither had to pay in nor got a refund. We got a refund, but applied it. Why doesn't TT know this?
