turbo tax

i have been using turbo tax for years. This by far is the worse experience i've ever had with this program. Constant error messages made this process relentless. I will tink twice about using this program next year!

I switched from the #2 brand which is 60% cheaper than TT because I mistakenly thought I would get more value for the additional cost. The import function for TT was weak. I had to import a .pdf version of last year's taxes and TT still asked many questions after I already provided the info. When I got to the end TT locked up and had to be re-installed. I thought I had saved a copy of my return but it could not be found. Last time using TT for me.

SEEMS LIKE "SEARCH" USED TO TAKE ME TO A FILE, NOT CUSTOMER QUESTIONS.I MISS THAT, SINCE SOMETIMES I CAN'T ANSWER A QUESTION, THEN CAN'T FIND IT AGAIN WHEN I DO HAVE THE ANSWER.

I have been rejected for an non-residency state 4 tiimes now because the program did not transfer federal to state income lines.....NOT good.
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments

ONLY ONE PROBLEM...

AT END, KEPT ASKING FOR AN ADDRESS FOR A FORM WHICH I DID NOT HAVE NEED FOR. DO NOT KNOW IF IT ACTUALLY FILED MY RETURNS AS THE ERROR MESSAGE KEPT RETURNING AND I WAS UNABLE TO ESCAPE IT.

Tax filing is made button push easy with Turbo Tax

I have used turbo tax for many years and I really like the fact that it carries forward data from previous years to avoid having to rekey and maybe make errors. Plus it compares to previous year so you can see easily if there are any unexpected discrepancies. Finally the e-filing is smooth and easy. Can do it on my schedule and not worry about a midnight run to the post office.
