Rough Edges

More and more, I find Intuit TurboTax seeming more like penny pinching me to death. I only get to submit the federal taxes for free for using the program, but I have to pay $25 for my state filing... Oh, and Add on Auditing Protection for $45 as well.
And once I've entered in my checking account to withdraw, or deposit money in, do I really have to re enter the exact same information several more times for my State info? Should I just be able to say, use the one I just typed in?
And I had at least one experience of opening up the application to work on my taxes, and having the program tell me to press "Continue" to go to where I left off last, and it started me at the beginning of the process, like I hadn't filled out half of the details already.
Makes for a not great experience, and feeling like I'm starting to be charged for everything under the sun.

TurboTax is more challenging to load this year

I purchased the disk again this year as it has worked very well in past years (at least back to 2005). This year it did not work smoothly. Loaded from the disk, but then crashed every time I tried to open it. Had to remove from the computer and download from the TurboTax website. What a hassle.
Once downloaded from the website it worked well as in past years.
Examples and explanation information are much weaker than in past years. I had to reference the IRS publications many times taking much more time.

Gets the Job Done

I had to update Turbotax about 4 or 5 times while filing taxes even though I purchased the most recent version. The program had trouble loading certain pages and I had to back up and reload the pages. Other than that, I was able to file my taxes fairly easily. I will continue to use Turbotax in future years.

Worst Ever!! Should have paid my brother the $50 to do it for us. This was the worst program ever! It was so slow and didn't import any of our documents and we had to type all information in. It is the worst to navigate. You can't jump around like you used to. If you want to go back and look at something you have to click back. It's so annoying!
