Strait forward instructions with a detailed analysis. Would have liked it available for Windows 7 or Apple iPad however.

2020 Turbotax Review

App crashed several times. Some instructions were difficult to follow, but I finally got them OK. I have used TurboTax for over 15 years. Too bad I have to update my MAC OS for next year!

Unhappy this year

I had bad experiences with Turbo Tax this year. In the past, I used Win XP, Win 7 etc. This year I was forced to use Win 10. I did not have this crappy program on any computer and all of mine were so old I was advised not to try and install win 10 on them. I purchased a new computer that had Win 10 already installed. I went to load the Turbo Tax program, but the new computer does not have an optical drive. ended up having to find some that could transfer the TT program to a thumb drive in order to install it on my new computer. Got it working and completed my taxes. When it came time to transmit the completed taxes, I could not enter my credit card information. I tried for 4 hours before I was able to complete the transmission and put an end to this nightmare.

Pretty Good Software

TurboTax makes tax paying a lot less painful. I started with "TaxCut", then TurboTax acquired them. I have been using the product most of my adult life, and it has only hurt me twice: years ago, it was unclear to me that the program asked for the amount of Virginia USE TAX (at that time it expected ME to calculate it, and I expected TT to calculate it) and I mistakenly entered the several hundred dollars I had SPENT online as several hundred dollars TAX OWED to my state. OUCH!!! The other time was this year, when they calculated that I owe $15 in penalties for underpaying the Feds, but Fed law says that as long as I paid in (in withholding and estimateds) the amount I owed LAST YEAR I do not owe a penalty. I paid my estimateds and was properly withheld, but TT made me give the Feds $15 extra for some reason. $15 is not worth my time to fight it, but it does erode my confidence in TurboTax a bit.
