Im well aware that I want to file a short form because I know I can't get anything other than the standard deduction.. Yet I get drug through lots of BS to get to the end screwing.

Turbo Tax was Quick and Easy

State Taxes cost too much

I can't believe that you charge $40 for the state tax software and then turn around and charge ANOTHER $25 to efile. Ridiculous!

Good Tax tool

I have used TT for years and it has never let me down. Easy and straightforward in most cases. The $25 charge to e-file in TT Deluxe is ridiculous, however, after giving you a 'free' state as part of the deal!

Not for military families w/split state residency

I've used Turbo Tax for years and appreciate the ease of use for the federal portion. HOWEVER, we are a military family and only my spouse is required to file state taxes as I am a legal resident of a tax exempt state.
In order to file jointly but have my spouse file state taxes we have to generate 2 different tax files, MFJ and MFS w/ state for my spouse. This is such a pain and doubles my workload. Turbotax needs an option to take a MFJ return and build a single state return from it. After building our MFJ return there should be a decision tree for military filers that pulls the relevant information for the spouse required to file state by herself.

Straight Forward

Every year it's a straight walk through the tax filing process. Consistent, enough depth to handle all of our circumstances and maybe the weird wrinkle on some years. Greatly appreciate this software.
