I have been using Turbo Tax to file my taxes since it was first available in 1984! Quick and easy, and I never feel like I have missed something. My two kids now use it to file their own taxes, as Mom no longer has that burden :)

Gone downhill

Need a better treatment of Treasury Inflation Protected Securities (TIPS). The cost basis of this type of security is affected by the annual taxation of the appreciation of the principal amount. There needs to be some way to find this out within TurboTax. Also, in the Home energy credits section, that installation of a new energy-efficient AC unit is hidden under "building property" but a furnace is treated as a separate line item. I spent unnecessary time trying to figure this out. They both should be treated as separate, individual entries.

I have been using TurboTax for years, and it has made me feel more confident that I've included everything I need to. I would rate it 5 stars but it makes you pay to e-file state taxes.
