Confusing options during purchase

I have complained before, but TurboTax continues to add confusion to their product purchase options. I expect they do this intentionally in order to increase the payments for their products. For example they offer TurboTax Deluxe, and TurboTax Deluxe that includes a State filing return. They also promote free TurboTax, but that is never the full TurboTax application software. They also claim that State returns will cost more for electronic filing, but that is not the case in NY.
What I do NOT need is more confusion when trying to file taxes or select a tax filing application tool !!

Had to buy a new MAC for it to download but it was so worth it. Downloaded it and instantly had results from last year so had little to enter by hand!

Turbo Tax gets it right

I previously used a different tax preparation tool and Turbo Tax is far superior.
The running totals at the top allows you to see what each entry does to the bottom line and provides the opportunity to experiment with different scenarios (i.e. I enter different amounts moved from my Traditional IRA to my Roth IRA to see the effects on my total tax bill.).
Since I never finish in one sitting and usually take a week or two between start and finish, I will bounce around different sections at different sittings which is no problem with Turbo Tax software. I use the guided tour of each section as I deem necessary with a total guided tour before final submission. Since Turbo Tax remembers and displays the last entries, the guided tour at the end is a thorough final check.
I do a fair amount of stocks and bonds trading throughout the year and prior to having the ability to download my transactions directly from my broker has saved me literally days of bookkeeping and error prone manual entry. Not to belittle the other outstanding features of Turbo Tax but this feature alone is my favorite and saves me the largest amount of time!
The final check and audit potential examination is a nice feature that somewhat eases the anxiety that I experience right before submission.
I purchase Turbo Tax with the state option since I live in a state that has has tax on income and it is almost totally complete with the figures carried forward from the federal. Only minor adjustments are required reducing that effort to mere minutes.
As it turns out this year, there were federal and state income tax changes late in the game. Turbo Tax was all over these changes with an update that was downloaded and incorporated electronically prior to my final check before submission which provides the feeling that I am using the most up-to-date software possible.
Electronic filing is great feature that has been available for a few years now but worthy of mention! No more print, sort, sign, stuff into an envelope, and run to the post office, just click on the button when ready. I also appreciate that Turbo Tax stays involved after submitting the federal tax with notification when the electronically filed package has been accepted by the IRS.
Needless to say but worth the ink, I am a big fan of Turbo Tax and have probably failed to mention other features that I like and appreciate, well worth the money.
