Turbo tax is good

Turbo tax is good but a little slow..
Needs a better way to figure out estimated payments for next year. It has me paying as if I was making the same money this year as last year, when I retired in the middle of last year. Obviously it is off by 300%.

To allow Turbo Tax to update files, it may be necessary to disable security programs (e.g. Norton). Turbo Tax support expert walked me through this process successfully.

Not as good as previous years

Had some areas where improvement is necessary. California home acquisition debt is not clear. They will add up all debt even those that were paid off during refinancing. The programs then tells you you shouldn't have to change the amount. Checks ran by TurboTax didn't find errors. Errors were then found when trying to save return as PDF right before filing. The program should not let someone file if there are errors even if they were discovered after update. Finally, new questions that were not asked in previous years should have more context, so the user understand why it is being asked.

If you try to do your taxes using just forms and instruction books it is totally illogical and will DRIVE YOU CRAZY!! Turbo Tax takes the insanity out of doing taxes.

More investment firms are giving complete input leaving downloading is all I have to do. Great. Glad I didn't have to read all the changes for last year's tax rules.
