Not impressed
on May 7, 2021

I traded in a Pixel 3. I wish I would have saved the money until Google could work the bugs out of the 5. Apps won't open a lot of times when using a link, typing in search bar often stalls out and won't bring up anything until I try it a couple of times, and phone does cuts in and out often when talking to different people. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement.

Decent phone upgrade
on May 8, 2021

This was an upgrade from a Pixel 3xl. First I didn't expect it but I miss the extra screen space. Second the minor tweaks to swipe controls are frustrating. Battery life is good but not two day good. For the price a decent phone.

A very good phone

Another solid Android phone from Google. Impressed with image qualify of camera.Love the size, it is not too big or too small. Stay in my hand well.Transferring application for transferring data and app and settings could be better compared to Apple's. Apple's just need to put the new device to the older one and follow authentication step then it goes on to transfer everything from there including your home WiFi access settings. I used USB cable for connecting the two devices and still need to enter long WiFi key.Instruction to find all applications is not clear to me. I was struggling for awhile at first. The same as finding the current opened applications. Gesture to go back also needs getting used to. It can interfere with application that uses swipe from right to left to perform an action such as dismissing an item. These are fine once you get used to and know about it.

Smaller than I expected

I upgraded from a Pixel 3XL to this Pixel 5. The phone is great, it is taking me a bit to get used to the smaller size with my huge hands. The notch is gone but is replaced with a circle for the forward facing camera. Which is only, sometimes distracting. Cases are harder to find than for something like a Samsung or iPhone.

Heated up and turn Google Duo off

The phone is good but for some reason, Google Duo and Pixel Buds do not work. When I am using both of them the phone heats up and I can not make calls anymore using Google Duo.

Poor battery life
on May 8, 2021

I upgraded from my two year old pixel 3 and this new phone has a worse battery life than my 2 year old phone did. You have to always have the data off (always had it on with the previous phone), can't have the display always on (always did with the previous phone), and have to be really careful about using any apps. The battery just dies so fast and you would think that their phones would improve, not get worse, with each generation
