Would like a bigger screen and a way to get a manual for instructions on how to use.

Nice and compact. Always hate getting a new phone. But after a few days of figuring out the ideocincracies and google searches I'm starting to like it.

Running smoothly everything. The camera takes amazing pictures. Fast processor. Satisfied customer so far. I read some people were having issues with the speakers. In my case , everything is running fine. The speakers sound great. I haven't tried the 5G though.

Not pleased

I ended up returning the phone after only two days. Everyone I had phone conversations with said I was cutting in and out. Also, I thought the sound was very tin-ey. Also, I use the camera for work a lot and I don't think it is very good for macro photos like my Pixel 2 was.

Almost perfect

I'm coming from a Samsung Galaxy S8 active and have used only Samsung Galaxy S devices the last ten years. Not impressed with any of the current Galaxy offerings, I chose to try something different. I settled on the Pixel 5 for a few reasons. First is the fingerprint sensor on the back. I got very used to that on the S7/S8 and was not willing to give that up. Second, I didn't want a giant phone. Third, I didn't want it to have a glass body. Fourth, I wanted an IP68 rating. Fifth, flat screen. This phone did all those things. I'm very happy with Android 11. I ran the Nova Launcher on my last two Samsungs, but after playing with the UI, I decided pure Android was the way to go. What I don't like is minor. I miss facial recognition and the headphone jack. The gesture navigation is...different and the app drawer is kinda awful. Wireless charging is slower. And the phone's speaker is tinny and hard to hear if it's noisy around you, though the speaker phone is plenty loud.

Could've done better

I upgraded from a pixel 3a and the front camera pictures got bad. Back camera didn't improve as much. It wasn't a big improvement as I thought. I'm a little disappointed. There's several glitches I didn't expect. I love the Google software but may be switching after all.

Where's the Pixel 5XL?
on April 13, 2021

The Pixel 5 is an okay phone. Coming from a Pixel 3 XL, I miss the larger screen and all the AR and VR stuff that was available on my Pixel 3 XL. I hope the Pixel 5 manages my battery better. My Pixel 3 XL got busted open by the expanding internal battery. The same thing happened with my Pixel 1. I would give up the waterproof feature on my next phone, if it meant I could replace my batteries whenever I wanted. It may be buyer's remorse, but I would not recommend the Pixel 5.
