I had a galaxy s8 before this, it just stopped working on me so I figured that I wouldn't spend any more money on a new samsung if they are going to just brick my existing phone. I'm use to the android software and interface so I went with a pixel. I like it. The only thing that I didn't like is that there is no back button like there is on the galaxy 8, everything is done via swipe with the pixal 5, I was annoyed at first but it takes some time to get use to. you have to touch and hold the screen just right to get the phone to go back or move forward on the current app you're on. Example: if I'm on instagram and I want to scroll through pic on someone's post and swipe left the phone will go back as if I push a back button. But you get use to how the phone likes to be touched, to get the response you want, just like my gf.

Replacing a Samsung

I have had a Google Pixel 3XL in the past and wanted another Google Pixel phone. At the time the 4 or 5 was not available or delayed so I settled on a Samsung S10e. Glad I went back, because the Google Pixel 5 is a very easy phone to use. Battery life is good, easy to set up straight out of the box.

Great product, lightning fast speed and really user friendly. I really enjoy the new camera for pictures, had a pixel 4 and just upgraded and this phone is just built better, and faster

For the average experienced smartphone user, you still have to do a bit of playing around and digging for answers in order to enjoy fully using the phone.

Good but not great.

I like everything about this phone and yet, aside from the excellent Android software, there is nothing great about it. The screen and performance are ok. Response is ok. Call quality is mediocre at best due to the underscreen speaker design. Battery life is very good. Fit and finish is very good. Google continues to use the same camera and gets great results from it but the loss of the extra processing chip hurts processing time. And all this comes at a price point just a bit high for this level of performance.

It took about 15 minutes to transfer info/apps from my Pixel 2. Very easy transition! So far so good

I love it

I just love it. I had the nexus 5, nexus 6, nexus 7, pixel 2, pixel 4, and now the 5. The build quality is fantastic and in the hand it feels somewhere in between the two regular and XL versions of past devices. I'm also thrilled about the 4080 mAh battery and I love the balance of the snapdragon processor and the RAM. I don't know, I just think Google actually listened to all complaints about the prior devices, and took into account the other lingering issues and especially with the pandemic in the front of our minds... Went with the key strengths, and I see this phone as like a Greatest Hits of the Google branded phones thus far. I'll miss the extra throttle of the Pixel 4 for graphic intensive gaming, but I can still play the same games with very little difference in graphic quality. Only the Pixel Peepers will notice :)
