Great so far

Seamless transition from my old Pixel 2 XL, which finally died 2 weeks ago. Great battery life, much faster streaming and browsing with 5G. There was a SIM Manager issue at the beginning, but I think that was due to my having both a personal and work profile, and the app took a couple days to update for both profiles.

Pixel 5 upgrade from Pixel 2
on March 30, 2021

I moved up from my Pixel 2 which was 3 1/2 years old to my new Pixel 5I have to emphasize that I Loved my Pixel 2, but it was starting to show it's age. I already replaced the battery once at 18 months, and after 3 1/2 years it was getting hard to get thru the day without recharging. The Pixel 5 has great battery life, and most importantly the same form factor as the Pixel 2, but with a bigger screen and 2x the storage.I debated replacing the battery again in my Pixel 2, but without new updates on that phone it was time.My only knock on Google - these phones can and should get 4 years of updates. They are rock solid and can last 4 years with a battery change. My wife's 4 1/2 year old OG Pixel was also replaced with a Pixel 4a (she wanted the headphone jack) Her phone was also working great except the battery was also shot. Battery originally replaced at 2 1/2 years and the replacement battery was 2 years old.Again Google, if you are reading...4 years of updates... Please

Upgrade from Samsung Galaxy 9
on March 30, 2021

The Good:Light weight. Intuitive OS, easy crossover from my Samsung. Really good camera. Just OK:My Notes from the Samsung didn't transfer over. No easy way to do this other than copying and pasting every Note into Google Keep Notes. The Bad:No music player. The side screen haptics can be very annoying when playing a game - PVZ 2. The screen scroll is glitchy at times, sometimes on a news page, sometimes in an email. The vibration for notification needs to be stronger.

I really wanted a XL

I really wanted a XL .. but this is OK .. I came from a 2XL this one is a little harder to see without my glasses.. but the similarity in programs and features made the change painless.

Phone was great, fast and took awesome pics until after about 2 weeks if use all of my apps stopped working on it. It started with one app and over the course of 24 hours, none of my apps would open.

Now I am Smartphone and so can you!

At 62 I finally surrendered to the hive mind and contracted for a data plan and a Pixel 5, my first smartphone. I have no more free will now and life is so much simpler, now that this slab of glass and plastic controls my existence. Because this somehow better. Everything on the phone is exactly like on my beloved but obsolete Nexus tablets but smaller and with more connection to the outside world... incessant, insistent, inane connection. Yes happy talking man smartphone please just kill me.
