I love the phone,like i've really liked ALL Pixel phones, but i much prefer the "face recognition" fixture, which, unfortunately, doesn't seem to be available on the Pixel 5.....

Simply Excellent

The Pixel 5 is a no frills phone that works great. The highlights are the seemless software integration with Android, excellent photos, and one of the most modern screens/bezels available. Also the speakers are not nearly as bad as the reviews say. Design feels fairly premium for the price. Great features like wireless charging and reverse wireless charging as well as waterproof. Due to the construction it feels light and small, but the screen is still a normal size. The body just makes it feel like a small phone, which it isn't really. I came from the Pixel 3 xl. I don't regret it, but I am so glad to no longer have the notch. Speed and performance are fine, but the software experience is top notch. This is not a premium flagship phone. It is an excellent mid range phone. 10/10 would buy again.

Switched from pixel 3xl to the 5 and I love it. Camera is great and goodbye notch. Skipped the 4 because of the facial recognition. The only thing I miss is being able to squeeze phone for assistant

Bad design

I had to return the phone and go with LG. I have been with the pixel family over 5 years. I decided to get the pixel 5 after pixel 2 xl became unsupported. Almost immediately I had 2 major issues. The phone was tiny compared to my pixel 2 xl and the call quality. Apparently the top speaker is under the glass screen. Calls seem to sound like they were in a tunnel and speaking while holding their nose. The other thing that was really bad is the glass vibration from the speaker under the glass while calls were in progress. People I was on the phone with said they could hear me fine it was just my end that had issues. I guess this issue could be bypassed by wearing ear buds. Sadly due to the call quality this phone was not a good fit for me. I love the pixel phones and look forward to future versions that do NOT have the speaker under the glass.

Great phone

Have had the phone for a couple weeks now. I really really like it. Runs fast, is 5g capable and the battery is lasting me a couple days, though I am not a heavy phone user. The camera is great, also has a feature I never knew I wanted, time-lapse videos! It's super fun to play with.Really wish it had a headphone jack, but that seems to not really be a thing anymore, so maybe I'm just stuck in the past.

needs more work. blinking led light under the screen is annoying. And android should handle connecting to another devices WIFI with an app without having to disconnect from all other networks. Network routing is less than basic.

Fun

Upgraded from a Galaxy S8 to this and have had a great time with the phone so far. No more bixby which is a relief. I like their messaging and contact apps, everything just feels nicely put together and works like it should. I prefer the front camera to be in the middle rather than off to the side but that is the only thing I would change and is a minor gripe.
