This is specifically regarding the carafe - this failed within five months of routine careful usage in accordance with “care and use” described for this product. Water and coffee is accumulating between the two layers of glass. The warranty for this product is 30 days and Fellow will not replace. Buyer beware - not recommended. Do not buy.

Impractical, but beautiful - don't buy

I was really excited for another Stagg product and this one seemed like a great design.
Beautiful and nice to see an integrated product, but there's just so much oversight and how it's actually used.
1) The filters because of the ripples holds about 30% less coffee than a standard single cup topper. The funnel design causes all the ripples to create an inner circle, which also causes the grinds to be very vertical and I think leads to overextraction.
2) The funnel resting piece is a two-part design, with a partial metal funnel that is not sealed to the bottom. And in fact, it comes with plastic wrap between it and the outer shell. There is no seal and liquid gets stored in the gap between the two making it nearly impossible to clean out. This is going to lead to bacteria and fungus buildup. Not at all sanitaryand fungus buildup. Not at all sanitary

Aesthetically, it's really good. You'll need a funnel to get your grinds into the pour-over dripper as it's narrow and the pleats of the filter are wide which chokes the opening. If you pre-wet the dripper the filter is still in the way. There's plenty of room for the bloom but prepare to have to top off the dripper numerous occasions throughout the brew. It's a 10+ minute ritual that requires your constant involvement.
The grinds that flow into those deep pleats annoy. The coffee is exceptional...

It takes a bit to really dial a coffee in! But once you do, it’s flawless! The design is already so appealing, so why wouldn’t you keep trying to get that grind, water temp and brew time perfect!

Carafe doesn’t keep coffee warm

I have the water heater and love it so I thought I would buy the carafe and pour over. The CARAFE DOESN'T KEEP THE COFFEE HOT. Poured coffee often has to go straight into the microwave. Multiple house guests have all reported the similar grips. Now I’m buying another carafe.

So much fun. Brilliant shape with double walled glass for insulation. The whole Fellow pour over setup is stunning, functional, sturdy, and so fun to use. I feel like a barista in my own kitchen. Buy it. A+++
