I love the way it

I love the way it looks and leave it out on the counter. But when I use it, it leaks every time. I can’t figure out how to pour it without it having coffee run down the side and leave a big coffee ring on the table. It’s like the glass has a defect at the spout and just makes a mess not matter what. I’ve tried with and without the top on it; tried pouring slower; even tried twisting it as I poured.

Only a 3 due to design. I want to start with saying I love the double wall and functionality. I prefer everything piping hot. I used this twice and then broke it cleaning dishes, my hand had a little water on it and it slipped out of my grasp as I was bringing it into the sink. If it were slightly wider at the top or had a handle or some textural element in the middle of the vessel it may have prevented this.
Obviously one could look at this and say well you should know better, but when I am washing multiple dishes I do not dry my hands in between washing dishes, haven’t met many people that do, that does not mean they do not exist or someone else wouldn’t have taken EXTRA care when cleaning this. However having to really baby or be careful with something does take away from functionality a touch, which is reason for the 3 star rather than 5. (Which is what every other fellow product I have gets as they are all absolutely stellar)
. Again overall I love this and really thought it was nice the two occasions I used it, just speaking from experience knowing others may share a similar situation OR hopefully avoid this after reading the review :heart:️

Glass carafe exploded and shattered

I have used my Pour-Over Set for about 2 weeks now. Seems all was well until I had a nearly empty carafe of coffee sitting just to my left on my desk when the outer shell exploded for no reason. I her a bang and pop and the outer shell was shattered all over my desk. I'm not sure why it did that but I'm going to inquire about a refund or a replacement.
Aside from this odd incident the Pour-Over set is nice. Though the double walled glass doesn't keep the coffee warm very long as glass is not a great insulator. I also have been extra careful when hand washing it as it doesn't feel real sturdy. Could have used thicker glass I guess. The top metal container works well with the filters and fits nicely over the carafe.

Truly excellent depending on expectations

I personally love this setup, with two minor caveats. First and most important is it’s making great coffee. The xf dripper is great, the double walled nature I love because of its heat retention, a feature I think can be missed but is honestly a highlight of the dripper. It and the carafe look and feel nice. Perfect if you’re trying to make 1-3 cups at a time. The double walled carafe succeed in protecting you from your brew, something I found the Chemex carafes never did for me. Only caveats are the carafe’s double wall is great for protecting your hands from burning but I don’t find it keeps your coffee warm all day like a more serious double walled carafe. The glass and open mouth conduct enough heat away from the coffee that after a bit it’ll go cold. One could argue though that you should be drinking your coffee once you’ve made it so this may not be a real concern for some folks. Second, I’m not a huge fan of the provided filters. Would prefer filters that sat flush against the walls to prevent bypass. The ridges of the provided filters are quite deep, trapping grounds and allowing bypass. But you can use replacement filters if need be. These downsides are minor concerns for me though and I enjoy this setup a lot. Use it every day.

A real deal

This is a fantastic pour over set-up. I have more pour over set-ups than a human needs. Hario V60s of different sizes, Hario mungen, Chemex like set-ups from Bodum, etc, Kalita wave, adding nuances with various metal and paper filters, Lilly dripper, etc. but the Stagg XF set-up is one of my favorites. It produces superior coffee. I use it typically with a metal filter or combination of metal and paper trying to highlight different aspects of a given coffee. This is also my go-to set up when i want uncomplicatedly excellent coffee in the morning.

Love the carafe; needs a better solution for the top cover

The pour-over system works great, but the rubber lid doesn't fit snugly over the carafe; it tends to slide up and prevent a good seal, which also allows heat to escape. It should fit snugly over the top at all time, IMO.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great dripper. Brings out many different layers of the flavor of the coffee. The Carafe was beautiful and great quality. Keeps the temperature well. However it is quite challenging to hold the Carafe while pouring the coffee. Would've given 5 stars if it wasn't an issue.

Not worth the money.

Subpar product designed more for aesthetics than functionality. The double wall is not air sealed so does not do a great job of insulation and allows condensation to get into the inner walls.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
