Wish I’d gotten a faster laptop. Also, it would be nice if the mail package didn’t arrive sitting outside the door with the word thinkpad Waiting for anyone to take it. The delivery didn’t bother to even ring the door bell or knock!

I use a Lenovo Thinkpad P50 at work for engineering applications and based on that I purchased the Thinkpad T490 for home. The T490 has been excellent so far, although I've just had it for over a month. The quick boot-up is very impressive (just a matter of a few seconds). It's also very quiet so some of the reviews that mentioned some noise do not seem to be an issue for me. The heat from the fan out the right side is also Ok. I like the 14"size for my use and I'm glad I didn't go with a larger size. Fast charging is good and all of the connectivity is appreciated. I might get a docking station of some sort, or may just run a monitor from the ports (not set up yet). I actually like the Lenovo baseline peripheral software that came pre-installed (for example, the battery saver software).

There is no backlit keyboard. The keys don’t light up at all and it seems like such a small thing to offer.
