This is a nice laptop. The keyboard has a wonderful feel to it. It has a matte screen -- which is nice on a business laptop -- although it could be a tad brighter. A couple of negatives: it doesn't have a touch screen; I don't really care about this. I find touch screens always get smudged. The major complaint may seem odd. It is the placement of the function key and left control key. It is the last key on the bottom left of the keyboard (where the control key is on every other keyboard I have used). Many users use control c, v, x, z, and p throughout the day. Having this key in a non standard place was a terrible design decision.

ThinkPad is well-known with its high quality, high stability and high reliability. The T490 I bought looks beautiful and runs smoonthly, I am satisfied with it except the volumes of the hard disk.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been a Thinkpad T series user since 2012.
Just upgraded the laptop and got a T490
Was a bit dissapointed that I had to wait so long for some T490 become available.
The alternative that they announced as the new generation, T14is just not budget friendly and I think it'll endanger Lenovo's good reputation.
I want to see same product line as T400 series.
Liked the mouse pad on my old thinkpad more than the new one. That's about it so far.

Amazing performance for laptop. However, the battery is 10 hours below par of what's expected. The battery lasts 4 hours with regular usage and performance. The microSD card slot also doesn't snap the SD card in place so you have to push and hold it while transferring files. I'm not sure why Lenovo would lie about the battery life but this was the biggest disappointment with this laptop.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Purchased this laptop about a month ago. So far I love it! It’s super fast and the display is pretty good for this type of laptop. Keyboard it great- your typical thinkpad keyboard which I love.
Battery does not last too long though if you are doing a lot of zoom meetings but overall pretty happy. It’s also super quiet. No noise issues at all
