New child safe packaging is ridiculous.

Opening your new packaging requires a scissors which not everyone carries with them when away from home. I am a senior and it is frustrating trying to cut the rigid plastic to get to the batteries. I could not find the 312 batteries in the original pack.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Impossible to open as directed

Only by resorting to wire cutters could I finally extract the batteries. Heaven help you if you needed to change batteries quickly. How many pairs of scissors will be destroyed chewing open the plastic? Yes I'm old. That frequently goes with needing hearing aids. How many children are endangered to justify such extreme protection?

Child Resistant package

This new packaging is super difficult to open! Using scissors you must cut thru that hard plastic and then pry the hard plastic apart so the battery will fall out. Directions were not very clear, so I may have not done it correctly, but WOW! Awful package! But batteries have a good life/usage.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This new package is very difficult to open , and no, it does NOT take less than a minute to open!
I have to painstakingly take out of package to take some with me. Who carries a scissors around with them??
I bought them & now it’s too late to return !
Please change the packaging! Will NOT purchase again.

Awful new packaging

I had to purchase the new child proof package of #13 hearing aid batteries and found the design to be not user friendly and not easy to get into . I have arthritis in both hands, and carpal tunnel . I could not open with my regular scissors and had to resort to my strong kitchen shears. There should be a better way to package these necessary supplies without getting cut from the hard plastic encasing the batteries. Over all my rating on this style container is -10 . I have no small children in my home, have no small children who come , do not go,places with small children. All family and friends are adult and their children are in there teens and older . Make a choice available for persons who do not have children in the home .
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hate the new packaging

I’ve used ray o vac batteries now for the 10 years I’ve been wearing hearing aids and have found them to be as good as or better than all the other brands. My complaint is the new childproof packaging that has made them almost unusable unless I’m at home with tools available to get them out. Please redesign the packaging so I’m able to use them without carrying a hardware store along with me.

So difficult to remove individual batteries

It takes great pressure to cut through the plastic encasing the batteries. Then you have little shards of hard plastic that cut like broken glass. I end up removing all six at one time, then storing them loosely, which defeats the concept of child resistance.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for submitting your review,Jimmy. Many thanks for you feedback on the new child-resistant packaging. We have changed the packaging format to be in compliance with Reese’s Law, which states that all button, coin and hearing aid batteries – and devices powered by those batteries – must be contained in child-resistant packaging that features specific warning copy.
The products have been subject to rigorous independent tests, confirming that the new packaging is 100% child resistant*, and zero batteries were accessed by children during CRP testing.* The new plastic dial includes additional staking points for extra security. By that nature it does mean that there will be a difference for users in how to access batteries in the pack, compared to previous packaging. The independent testing also showed that 99% of seniors were able to open the pack for the first time in under one minute*. On the second attempt, this time halved* so we found that consumers become faster with more familiarity and with instruction. We want to support everyone through the transition to child-resistant packaging and have prepared the following video that shows you how to open the pack.

child proof package

This is 2nd pack of batteries I have bought . No problem with the batteries, but the packaging is terrible . This child proof is also senior proof !! I am not weak in the hands and cannot get the battery out even with scissors without a major operation . I think of the elderly, living alone who have no assistance . Suggest a little less of child proof and more senior friendly .
