Packaging

The new child proof packaging makes this product almost useless. The packaging for an older person is almost impossible. Most hearing aids do not say "you are in your car and it is quitting, get your sissors and now fight with the package and get one". or you are at a concert and it goes out and you need to cut the package to get at it. How many leave batteries out where kids can get them compared to how many older people with arthritis, shaky hands, but still on the go need EASY access to their hearing aid batteries. Maybe you should reconsider the design or something. I saved the old packaging and am now reusing it for my convenience, but you design caused more problems then it saved children lives. Think again. I know you will not read or care what I say, but I had to let you know the reality of the packaging. I am writing as a wife that makes sure my husband has his batteries when he needs them. Batteries work find.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for submitting your review.janb! Many thanks for you feedback on the new child-resistant packaging. We have changed the packaging format to be in compliance with Reese’s Law, which states that all button, coin and hearing aid batteries – and devices powered by those batteries – must be contained in child-resistant packaging that features specific warning copy. The products have been subject to rigorous independent tests, confirming that the new packaging is 100% child resistant*, and zero batteries were accessed by children during CRP testing.* The new plastic dial includes additional staking points for extra security. By that nature it does mean that there will be a difference for users in how to access batteries in the pack, compared to previous packaging. The independent testing also showed that 99% of seniors were able to open the pack for the first time in under one minute*. On the second attempt, this time halved* so we found that consumers become faster with more familiarity and with instruction. We want to support everyone through the transition to child-resistant packaging and have prepared the following video that shows you how to open the pack.

So difficult to remove individual batteries

It takes great pressure to cut through the plastic encasing the batteries. Then you have little shards of hard plastic that cut like broken glass. I end up removing all six at one time, then storing them loosely, which defeats the concept of child resistance.

Impossible to Open Packaging

I have been using these batteries for six or eight years--since I first started wearing hearing aids and like the batteries very much. However, the new "child resistant" packaging is impossible for me to open. I am 76, not frail and still work 3 days a week. I think you have to be a muscle man to be strong enough to cut open the new packaging. I need to hear, especially for my work. I am thinking that I will take the batteries to the police station and have some strong person there cut them open for me. What a pain!
