Cut-open feature

I have always loved Rayovac hearing aid batteries because they last longer than other brands, but I can only find them in the new cut-open style. I don't mind doing this at home, but I wish I could carry them in my purse in the original container without having to cut open the whole thing and putting in another container. They are definitely child-proof and if I get bad arthritis, they are going to be adult proof for me! It would be great if we had the option.

Child Resistant package

This new packaging is super difficult to open! Using scissors you must cut thru that hard plastic and then pry the hard plastic apart so the battery will fall out. Directions were not very clear, so I may have not done it correctly, but WOW! Awful package! But batteries have a good life/usage.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This new package is very difficult to open , and no, it does NOT take less than a minute to open! I have to painstakingly take out of package to take some with me. Who carries a scissors around with them?? I bought them & now it’s too late to return ! Please change the packaging! Will NOT purchase again.

I had to purchase the new child proof package of #13 hearing aid batteries and found the design to be not user friendly and not easy to get into . I have arthritis in both hands, and carpal tunnel . I could not open with my regular scissors and had to resort to my strong kitchen shears. There should be a better way to package these necessary supplies without getting cut from the hard plastic encasing the batteries. Over all my rating on this style container is -10 . I have no small children in my home, have no small children who come , do not go,places with small children. All family and friends are adult and their children are in there teens and older . Make a choice available for persons who do not have children in the home .

Hate the new packaging

I’ve used ray o vac batteries now for the 10 years I’ve been wearing hearing aids and have found them to be as good as or better than all the other brands. My complaint is the new childproof packaging that has made them almost unusable unless I’m at home with tools available to get them out. Please redesign the packaging so I’m able to use them without carrying a hardware store along with me.

Great Batteries

My husband and I both wear hearing aids so we go thru a lot of batteries. Love the batteries but the biggest problem we have is opening the new packages. I have arthritis and it is all I can do to get the packages and open, and he is never near a pair of scissors when he needs to open a package.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Packaging

The new child proof packaging makes this product almost useless. The packaging for an older person is almost impossible. Most hearing aids do not say "you are in your car and it is quitting, get your sissors and now fight with the package and get one". or you are at a concert and it goes out and you need to cut the package to get at it. How many leave batteries out where kids can get them compared to how many older people with arthritis, shaky hands, but still on the go need EASY access to their hearing aid batteries. Maybe you should reconsider the design or something. I saved the old packaging and am now reusing it for my convenience, but you design caused more problems then it saved children lives. Think again. I know you will not read or care what I say, but I had to let you know the reality of the packaging. I am writing as a wife that makes sure my husband has his batteries when he needs them. Batteries work find.

Thank you for submitting your review.janb! Many thanks for you feedback on the new child-resistant packaging. We have changed the packaging format to be in compliance with Reese’s Law, which states that all button, coin and hearing aid batteries – and devices powered by those batteries – must be contained in child-resistant packaging that features specific warning copy. The products have been subject to rigorous independent tests, confirming that the new packaging is 100% child resistant*, and zero batteries were accessed by children during CRP testing.* The new plastic dial includes additional staking points for extra security. By that nature it does mean that there will be a difference for users in how to access batteries in the pack, compared to previous packaging. The independent testing also showed that 99% of seniors were able to open the pack for the first time in under one minute*. On the second attempt, this time halved* so we found that consumers become faster with more familiarity and with instruction. We want to support everyone through the transition to child-resistant packaging and have prepared the following video that shows you how to open the pack.
