Great, with a single issue.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have very much enjoyed my time with this XPS13. I have a few issues though. Firstly, I wish this came with coreboot or similar so I have more flexibility on which Linux distribution I can use. I removed Ubuntu LTS as soon as I received the machine, and replaced it with Fedora, which has been flawless. All in all, highly pleased with its performance in its allotted role as a research terminal (I am a graduate student).

Good for basic computing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are elements of the XPS 13 7390 that are quite good. The screen quality is excellent, and for most basic computing needs, the computer works well. I've had non-stop problems with the driver for the WiFi adapter where I've lost internet and had to reinstall the bios almost every week. Also, the computer can't handle even some of the most basic video editing without getting dramatically slowed down. Unfortunately, it's almost impossible to upgrade any of its components which means I'm stuck with a computer that doesn't work for much other than basic computing.

I am sorry to hear that you are having some issues with performance and Wifi. I know that can be frustrating. Here are some things you can look into if you haven't already.
When your Dell laptop is taking longer than expected to respond, boot up, or shut down, and you may be experiencing a system performance issue.
Various problems can cause system performance issues, such as:
Fragmented data on the hard disk drive
Outdated drivers for internal components or external peripherals like docking stations
Outdated or corrupt operating system files
Disk errors
Insufficient memory (RAM)
Hardware failure
Follow the steps in the Troubleshooting Steps section to help resolve slow performance issues on your Dell computer. There are also some optional steps and informational videos in the other sections below.
Note: Dell recommends removing any external peripherals (printers, docking stations, etc.) before proceeding with the troubleshooting steps. This can help determine whether the issue is with the computer or the peripheral.
Troubleshooting Steps:
Step 1: Restart your computer regularly.
A reboot (restart) can resolve many issues. Restarting your computer is an effective way to clear the system memory (RAM) and shut down any errant processes and services.
Restarting your computer closes all the applications and services running on your computer, including background processes that other programs have started. The more programs that you have open and the longer they run, the more likely your computer slows down and eventually runs out of RAM. Ideally, you should shut down your computer when it is not in use. If you use your computer frequently, Dell recommends restarting it at least once per week.
If restarting the computer does not resolve the issue, proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Run the Online Diagnostics on your Dell computer
Browse to the Dell Support website.
Either:
Touch or click the listing for your computer under THIS PC.
Note: When there is no listing for your computer under THIS PC, you can touch or click Download & Install SupportAssist, which will automatically identify your computer for you. Follow the prompts to download and install SupportAssist.
Enter the Service Tag, Dell EMC Product ID, or Model, and then touch or click the Search button, and select your computer from the list.
Touch or click Browse all products: You will need to select the type of device you have, the brand name, and then the product model.
Note: For more information, refer to Dell Knowledge Base article, How to Determine the Model Number of Your Dell Computer.
When you get to the product support page for your computer, touch or click the DIAGNOSTICS tab.
Touch or click the Full Test and follow the prompts.
Note: Some diagnostic tests may display graphical patterns to test the video or display and some status dialog boxes that may require your response. The diagnostic test results may show incorrectly if no response is provided when required.
Step 3: Scan your computer for malware
Malware (viruses, spyware, trojans, etc.) can cause a computer to stop functioning or perform slowly. These malicious programs can also track your web browsing and display additional advertisements.
If you suspect your computer has been infected, Dell recommends that you scan your computer with an anti-virus or anti-malware program. Windows 10 computers come equipped with Windows Defender, which provides essential protection against malware, but dedicated anti-virus or anti-malware software can thoroughly scan your system and remove malicious programs. Most Dell computers have essential anti-virus software like McAfee preinstalled, but this software may require a subscription. There are many other anti-virus or anti-malware programs (free-to-use and subscription-based) that you may use.
Note: Installing more than one anti-virus or anti-malware program on your computer does not give you better protection. Instead, it only slows down your computer further. Dell recommends installing one anti-virus or anti-malware program and updating it regularly to maintain active protection against malware. You can read the full article here. https://dell.to/3bcZxmQ

Regarding the Wifi concern, it sounds like you are taking the correct steps. I would recommend that you regularly check to make sure your Bios is up to date.

Here is a link to the support page for your computer to help you quickly get to them. https://dell.to/2VMcyz8.

If you are still in need of further assistance, you can go to Dell's support page here. http://dell.to/2sH7Qlm I hope we can get this resolved quickly for you.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's true what the professional reviewers say about this laptop. It is the best 13" pc on the market today. It's fast, easy to set up, has good battery life, a fantastic screen, and is very lightweight. You get a lot of bang for your computer buck. I'm very happy with my XPS 13.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The thing is stupidly light. I literally had my backpack on my back and been looking for my laptop... and it was in the bag already.
With proper power management, I have had it last 8 hours straight without power. And I still had 20% left.
Amazing device.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This laptop has been wonderful. I am a PhD student and was looking for a laptop that was powerful and portable. This laptop fits those needs wonderfully. The keyboard is also comfortable and not too clicky sounding (for when I'm typing in class). A few of my grad student friends also have this laptop and enjoy it a lot!
