This is my first Dell, and the first high-end laptop purchase. Until now I've been buying cheap laptops and building my own desktops. So far so good, battery life isn't what I was expecting. The unit itself is heavier than I thought it would be, and the lid doesn't open with just one finger like a MacBook Air (I have a 2015 that I bought used and have been using for web dev). Great machine other than that.
Display and performance are very good, but the keyboard is going to take some getting used to. Lettering is hard to see at most angles in daylight, and the on-off button has a mind of its own.
1. My laptop is new, it will not sleep. I had this problem with the older XPS but did not expect this. Sleep is to keep the windows open. 2. when battery ended, I reconnected and it took 5 minutes before I could sign - but I needed to control

I have been using this machine for almost a year and I have not complaints except the wifi, the signal is always very weak. All my other devices have full strength signal (phones, tablets, tvs, macbook, desktop computer etc) and work perfectly but not my dell, it has 1 bar best case or just looses the signal even when it is next to the modem. This is very annoying. Unfortunately a basic thing like this not working properly will make me not want to buy another dell laptop ever the future.
Product quality is good but the battery life is not as they have advertised and cost wise it is 150% in India compared to US. Also, the latest models like foldable version are not available in India.

Verified Purchase:Yes
Product quality is good but the battery life is not as they have advertised lasts only 5 hours and cost wise it is 150 to 200% in India compared to US. Even if we pay custom tax and GST in India on top of importing a Dell laptop from US the price is still much cheaper in US compared to India. Also, the latest models like foldable version are not available in India.
Sleek, compact and quite operation. Battery last longer.

Overall happy with the XPS 7390. It does heat up quick, so at home I use a cooler master tray with a fan to keep it cool. Battery lasts all day at work (not constant use, however). I had to disable the Killer wifi app service because it kept dropping signal quite often. Otherwise, no big issues. It’s light, thin, has a crisp screen, and a backlit keyboard. Added a bluetooth mouse.
