I love my new XPS 13 laptop. I replaced a 4 year old work laptop that feels like a brick in hindsight. This is so light and small in comparison, but the screen on the XPS really maximizes the size. It does not "feel" like a small laptop when I am using it. But it sure feels small when I'm packing it in my work backpack. As far as performance, I don't use heavy, taxing programs. But it is blazingly fast compared to every other computer in our business, and especially in comparison to my old laptop.
The laptop is pretty amazing. Very light and capable. I'd like to see an auto brightness censor and an reduction in pop ups from Dell. It's to annoying.
I just appreciate the experience I'm getting from this laptop. It has great display, amazing speed thanks to the intel core 7, 16 GB Ram and 512 GB SSD. This laptop has it all. But despite that fact that it has a quad core processor, it still is quite small and compactable. For example, I can easily place it into my bag with my laptop case. The second best thing about it is that the screen is really, really thin. It looks like a piece of paper from side on but also has a thin frame around the screen. As a student at high school, it is a pleasure to have such an outlasting battery that will easily last over 10 hours. Lastly the keyboard lights up as you type. Do you know how helpful it is too be sitting in your room at night and be able to see the keys your pressing. This laptop is worth it's price and I recommend it to anyone who is buying a laptop
The right/left click on the touch pad should not have cursor control since it is too easy to have the cursor move while pressing, causing unintended operations. Like my old Dell Latitude E6400, this laptop seems to autonomously modify the cursor position, but unlike the E6400, the typing entry cursor is not modified so typing while not looking at the screen does not result in entries in unintended locations in the document. Thanks for that I guess. There is a delay sometimes from right click on an intended positional change for keyboard entry and the ability to actually enter keystrokes. The light tone cursor moves but no entry possible, sometimes requiring an additional click. This is annoying. Other than that, execution speed on javascripts via powershell is very good, screen is very nice
