I've really enjoyed this computer. It's fast, responsive, the keyboard is excellent, the trackpad is pretty good. I've had this problem where the multimedia keys stop working within a few minutes of reset every time that I can't fix with software updates or any forum-suggested fixes.
Waiting for my computer was frustrating as it to much longer to arrive than I expected....3 weeks. Now that it is here, it seems to work ok for the most part, but the microphone is not great. I have to be quite close to the computer for my voice to be picked up and then if I move my head at all, the sound quality will be affected. All of my classes are now online and I often have to record my voice, so the quality of sound is very important, especially for french, as I am marked on my pronunciation. I find sometimes I sound muffled and sometimes it sounds like I made the recording while in a tin can. The other complaint that I have is the I have not been able to set up my email in Outlook, as I had hoped to. I know that I have to change the settings for the incoming and outgoing server, but I have not been able to find the place to input the change.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Both Adolfo and especially Jon were very helpful and professional. Jon was able to pinpoint an issue within short period of time and resolve it very shortly. Many thanks
The microphone has issues. Brand new, purchased for teaching online, students can’t hear me.

The microphone works intermittently - bizarrely picking up sounds like laughter or bumping against the table, but not my voice - and the sound is weak and tinny. I thought I was upgrading when I purchased this instead of replacing my tablet - but I'm very disappointed.
One star for the springy, enjoyable keyboard. Another for the light, portable build.

It is a slick machine but the microphone didn’t work and it emitted constant noise while charging and in use, and Dell support could not do anything about the noise. We ended up returning it.

To try to fix noisy fans, Update the BIOS: An out-of-date BIOS can cause loud fan noises by having an outdated temperature table for the system. Refer to update BIOS and follow the instructions to update the BIOS on your computer.
