Purchased this as a supplementary drive. Very pleased. Is smaller and quieter than previous Passport drives.

Good Solid - small drives

Great drive. It works - and works well. Drive is smaller in physical size than other 5 TB drives - which I really like.
I have purchased over 5 of these drives over the last year - and have not had an issue with any of them. Standard external spinning drive.

Hard Drive go BRRRRR Click

Pros: Small form factor, nice bright blue casing, has password protection for the drive and the 5TB is more like 4.8TB (which seems to be a normal thing with Hard Drives and capacity volumes)
Cons: Hard Drive go BRRRRR Click within 3-4 months of use.
Because it's outside of Best buy's 30 day return dates, you should register your product with Western Digital and start the RMA process with them. Best buy cannot help you with the replacement because it is under Western Digital's warranty, not best buy's warranty (though in other countries, this is illegal and Best buy would be the ones to remedy the issue for you as an intermediate to the manufacturer)

Since, I have bought a Seagate portable hard drive to transfer whatever data I can before it is all lost on this drive.

It is OK for storing pictures and movie files

I bought this to store multiple versions of Mac iPhotos and Photos libraries plus a bunch of RAW film material. Only to find out, that it is not easily possible to format the disk to Apples APFS and it was terribly cumbersome to get it to format for Mac OS Extended (journaled).
It's good value for use on Windows I like to think, but for use on a Mac, I would look elsewhere next time.
