I was a bit wary of buying an electric chainsaw but, after some research and reading many reviews,Greenworks seemed to be the way to go and I decided to give it a try. I needed one for tree trimming all this mess I have around the house so, I bought the 40v, 2.5ah, 14 inch chainsaw. I have a lot of trees... I cannot say enough good things about this saw. It surpassed my expectations by a mile. This thing is a tree trimming beast! Quiet, lightweight, plenty of torque, it cuts through branches big and small like a hot knife through butter. I'm so impressed that I ordered an 18 inch, 60v, 4.0ah saw for some of the big trees I need to cut down. It should be here today or tomorrow I figure, based on how fast my 14 inch was delivered. If this new one does its job as good as my small one, I'll be looking to sell my 3 gas saws...

Works great but when using on large trees or working 10 min straight it cuts out and quits like its dead but battery still reads half charged but it has to be recharged also when not in use it always leaks out every drop of chain oil.

This electric chainsaw is the answer to everyone who needs to cut smaller sized trees and branches, but doesn't want to mess with the hassle of starting a gas engine, handling a chainsaw that is big & heavy, loud, and dangerous kickbacks to worry about.

40v chainsaw is every bit the quality saw as the pole saw I bought a couple years ago. And the batteries are interchangeable! Great tools for the homeowner. Now I am waiting for the pole saw hedge trimmer attachment to become available. I am a very happy customer.

Amazing how much power this chainsaw has. And so much quieter than a gas powered one. Plus, it works using the same battery and charging system as my lawn mower and weed trimmer. Doesn't come with chain oil though, so make sure you pick that up separately from a hardware store.
