[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works great. The battery runs for a good bit before dying. It’s a lot less fuss than gas but just as much power. Of course the limitation is the run time; however, time is saved in upkeep. Great saw

I’ve been amazed at what this chainsaw can do! The only trouble that I have had is that I apparently used a replacement blade that had a bigger chip size and it wore out the drive sprocket. The sprocket couldn’t be replaced. My second one leaks bar oil. Otherwise, I love this saw and all of the rest of my 80v Greenworks tools!

Used just to try out on a couple cuts. Works as it should. A bit louder than I expected, but better than the gas. Nice not to have the gas smells and seems to have less vibration .

Exceeded my Expectations!

I bought this chainsaw about a month ago. I hated the idea of having to keep a gas can in the garage, so I was looking for an alternative. We live in Florida where hurricanes are common. When we have a hurricane, power goes out and gas stations cannot pump gas without electricity. However, our back up solar panels can still generate electricity so I knew even under the worst circumstances, I would be able to use the chainsaw when I needed it most—storm cleanup. After using this chainsaw for a few weeks to clean out some underbrush on our property, I have been very pleased with how well it functions. It does a great job, runs fora long time on a single charge, and is very quiet. I also like the fact that it does not give off any exhaust fumes. I definitely would recommend this product.

I bought this and 2 weeks later a storm came through and I was just so impressed! Cleanup was so fast and a lot more fun than using the ax. I’m glad I finally bought this. It’s quiet and easy to use.

This is the second chainsaw in less than two months that I've had to return due to defects. The 1st a 60v and this an 80v chainsaw. I'm waiting now for my 3rd unit, fingers crossed. I like the idea of these units but good lord, how about a little better quality control. Now, having said that, customer service has been exemplary and accommodating. Unfortunately, while I may applaud their customer service, I couldn't in good conscience recommend this brand to anyone.

Tired of spending an hour to get your gas powered chainsaw started so you can cut a couple of limbs? I was, that’s why I bought the Greenworks battery powered chainsaw. While likely not for the professional loggers out there the Greenworks 80v chainsaw works incredibly well for your occasional needs. We recently had to fall a huge Monterey Pine using a big Gas saw but once down I used my Greenworks saw to limb it up and cut firewood. Working side by side with others using gas saws the Greenworks saw proved it could easily keep up. Just press the button and your cutting, no fuss, no muss. Love it.

There are multiple varieties of oregon chains that can be used including this one for example: Part# D60. The chain should have the following specs:
16" , 3/8 LP , 0.050" gauge
