I first tried the most recent YOGA laptop, but ended up sending it back and ordering this one instead. The 2-in-1 features of this laptop are fantastic. The keyboard is unbeatable, it's the best; typing on this computer is a dream.
I spent quite a bit of time researching laptops, and I always came back to this laptop. It is absolutely worth the premium price for the premium features. Don't second guess yourself, purchase this laptop!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced an older Yoga 900, which was a good notebook until I had to replace the battery. I wanted to have a great notebook that is 2 in 1. X1 Yoga adds some special things to it that most reviewers do not mention, but are very important to me: TSM module - when used for drive encryption no-one can take the drive and put it in another computer to read data from it; camera cover - slider to close the camera and provide privacy. Screen is amazing (I have the 4k screen)... very bright and very precise in touch. It includes a pen, which is not of a perfect quality for professional graphics, but is good enough for regular web surfing and simple drawing. Keyboard is best I see on notebooks. Touchpad is great and includes separate buttons.
Performance is good (I have the slowest i5 that is offered) - I do not need a rocket. I still work with Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and InDesign and do not see any performance problems.
However, where I see the biggest difference to the Yoga 900 and Yoga 940 that my wife has, is the physical stability. It is a metal notebook. It is spill proof. Nothing feels weak.
I also use it with external docking station that provides power and connects via USB-C - all via one cable.
In summary - I did not see any instability and love this notebook.
