[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Brand new and was forced to return it because it shut down during set up and wouldn't start up again. Had to do a reset to get it to power up again. But shut down right away, the third time I did it I saw a CMOS error. This was my 4th Lenovo two oldest still work the, 3rd the motherboard went bad in year 3. They seem to be less reliable then they used to be. After some deliberation I have decided to get another Lenovo, but if I have issues with it, it will be the last Lenovo I purchase

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this laptop to fulfill a slightly unusual requirement: to dual boot Windows and Ubuntu Linux. The large selection of Lenovo products shown as "Ubuntu Certified" led me to the ThinkPad X1 and I have not been disappointed. The installation of Ubuntu was successful. The upgrade of the original Windows 10 Pro to Windows 11 was clean. The device itself has a great keyboard and screen. Battery life has been good. So far, everything has worked well, and I'm impressed. One small inconvenience: it wasn't clear whether or not the package included the dongle needed to use the built-in wired ethernet port ... I had to order that after the fact and it was received promptly. So far, this looks like a good product.
