Stay away from the lousy "Privacy Guard" display

I bought this to replace a 2014 Yoga generation 2. The Thinkpad X1 Gen 5 laptop is well-built and looks like it will last just like the 2014 model did. I really like the Thinkpad "nub" mouse pointer and have preferred the Thinkpad keyboard since the 1990's.
I made the wrong choice for displays, and I write this in hopes that you will know what you are getting. I ordered the 14" FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS, touchscreen with Privacy Guard, AR/AS*, 500 nits display. This display is ...disappointing, at best. One must be looking right at the screen at a certain angle or the display will seem dark - even with 500 nits! And that is without the "Privacy Guard" feature turned on. If you do use the "Privacy Guard" not only will the people around you not see your screen, but also YOU won't see your screen unless you squint at exactly the correct angle.
Stay away from the "Privacy Guard" feature unless you have specific issues that require privacy over performance. I made a horrible mistake in choosing this option.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second Lenovo Yoga. First one lasted 6 years and was still going strong with not one single issue the entire time, but because of the photo editing I do, I wanted to get another one before something went wrong and I lost everything like has happened in the past. So far, it has not disappointed. Reminds me much of my first one, but faster and more storage (double what I had which means more pictures which makes me happy!). I know there are new features - but I've yet to explore. This is my 3rd Lenovo product and I am a firm believer in their products. Definitely worth paying that little extra for something I know won't disappoint me!
