Could not get ethernet to work even with help from a computer tech. Switched ports on router, changed cable, even hard coded IP address into printer. Nothing worked. Gave up and now using USB instead. Printer works fine now. Have had several HP printers without any problems, except for this one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Second of all, since you tried to troubleshoot your problems already, I would suggest that you give us a call at +1 800-474-6836 between the hours of 8 am - 9 pm ET and explain your situation. To expedite the process, you can gather these beforehand: - Model number - Serial number - Your location - Your case number (if you had prior contact with support)
Again, please take my apologies and I do hope that everything will turn out great so you can enjoy your printer fully.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I added the printer to my network two of my PCs installed GREAT with full functionality. Two other systems failed, even after many hours of effort. After two hours of HP tech support also trying to solve the installation glitch we gave up and manually hacked the driver into Windows 10. So it wasn’t a great consumer experience, but thanks to a good tech I’m now up and enjoying a great printer!

I bought this printer to replace a much older 1200 dpi network-capable laser jet. I had previously dedicated a computer server to share the old printer on my network for other computers, but the M404dn simply appeared in the macOS print destination list via Bonjour - so I didn't even need to set up the server! This is very convenient.
The HP does not have WiFi itself, but my WiFi connects wired network, and this allows the printer to show up on WiFi, too, without any additional setup. Great!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The printer works fine, however, it is not as described or advertised. I was looking for a printer with 2 paper trays, and it says that it has 2 paper trays, but that is misleading. The 1 tray is a feeder tray, not a paper tray.

It did take me a little while to get it figured out but I honestly love it. I'm not a pro or really tech savy but others can have it going in no time. It's the fastest printer I've ever had or worked with. This is great for home and office use. I highly recommend this model.
