Great Model, easy build

This Lego was fun to build. My only gripe would be that it’s not as complex as the Saturn 5 build and was over too soon...
Beyond that the model looks great and I love that the minifigs fit in the LEM. It even simulates the cramped conditions

This set is a dream come true!

It's hard to describe how much I love this set. Several years ago I emailed LEGO to ask if they'd be re-releasing or remaking the lunar lander set from several years ago. They weren't able to tell me anything, of course. So when I saw the first ad for this last spring I nearly spit out what I was drinking. The set is a practically perfect model of my favorite space ship. It looks right on the outside, has a detailed interior, and features separate descent and launch sections. The base even has lunar features and mini fig footprints! Other reviewers have mentioned the abundance of stickers and that the thrusters stick out too far. I agree with both. Just remove the arm piece in the middle and be very careful with the stickers. Printed parts would've been nicer. The only other negative is the minifigs' spacesuits. They're literally wearing scuba gear. It doesn't just not look like the Apollo suit. It looks wrong. To whoever thought that up, I give you the words of Vitruvius from "The LEGO Movie": "That idea is just. The worst."

Fun, Historic Build

I was barely around for the Apollo 11 landing. I'm a bit of a space/NASA nerd. I bought the Saturn V as soon as it came out, and bought the Lunar Lander as soon as it came out. Love to have these historic icons as collectors pieces. It was a fun build and is a great representation of the original.

An excellent rendition

My first Lego experience. My wife has been building sets for years, but being the space race nut I am, as soon as she mentioned this was being released June 1, I ordered it that day. A great build to get my feet wet. Not too difficult of a build-really like the gold brick pieces representing the mylar shielding. Just a couple of extremely minor criticisms. I agree with another reviewer that the blast crater should have been placed under the descent engine cone. I also wish the unit was a larger scale to allow the two astronaut figures to stand side-by-side when "operating" the LEM as in real life. And that's a final thing. I am old school and think the original name should have been used-Lunar Excursion Module, or the later naming standard, Lunar Module, and not Lunar Lander. All very, very minor quibbles. This is a fantastic build.

Lunar Landing Celebration
on July 20, 2019

I got this set when it came out in June together with the Nasa patch and waited until July 20th, 2019 to build it during the hours when Neil and Buzz were up on the moon 50 years ago. The set is an absolute celebration of the lunar landing. So many little details are included: The antennas, the camera that recorded Neil Armstrong when he stepped first on the moon, the interior of the LM, the oxygen and fuel tanks, the ladder to get down to the ground, the steering handles, and so much more. We played at home the entire moon landing and had much fun. The set is gorgeous to look at, the golden pieces are just looking beautiful in the light. This set is outstanding and thank you Lego for making this special set for this historic opportunity .
