"The Eagle has landed"
on June 25, 2019

It was a very fun build even though it is one of the easier ones. I love the detail and the creativity of the Lunar Lander. The sets contains stickers that I not of fan of, but I can understand why LEGO did this, plus it's pretty simple to put the sticker on the piece. I know some people complain about the astronaut's spacesuits looking a little cheesy, but personally I think they're cute. Besides it is LEGO's interpretation of the Apollo 11 moon landing. I will be putting this next to the LEGO Saturn V rocket that I built awhile back. I wouldn't hesitate recommending this set to anyone as it is fun to put together.

Could have been much better

I love the NASA sets. I love the attention to detail and attempt to create an accurate model. This set is wonderful but it could have been the best ever. Some of the pieces used are questionable. For example the ladder is silver/gray. Why'd they use black? The plaque is silver, why'd they use black? Why use an entire windscreen when smaller clear peices would have been more accurate? It was a lot of fun building this set, even more fun making it more accurate. Would recommend.

The Eagle has Landed

What a fun build, and a great educational display piece! I look forward to explaining to my kids all about this wonderous age or rocketry, from before even I was born.
Can we please get a Lunar Command and Service Module, and Lunar rover, set in the same scale? These will all go on display next to my NASA Apollo Saturn V rocket set.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Amazing design and detail

From age 5-15, I bought all kinds of LEGO sets, and now, at 40, have started appreciating some of the larger, significant sets instead of mixing all the pieces together as toys. This set was extremely impressive in the design of the construction, the thoughtfulness of the detail, fun of building the sections (the base in particular was a great surprise), and the beauty of the finished product. The instruction booklet came with fascinating info, and some parts are even hidden in the final construction. If I had any complaint, it would be the use of stickers instead of printed pieces. The playability is tight, but the colors and display size are captivating.

Apollo Lunar Lander

This was a great build! Having watched the moon landings live on tv, the build reminded me so much of that time.
I had no issues with the instructions.
I would recommend a new Lego Appollo Command Module as a companion to the Lunar Lamder in the same size ratio. I also own the Saturn V rocket so the Command Module would complete the set.

To the Moon!

This is the first Lego set I have put together since I was a child. I love how modular the design is: the lander sits neatly on the base, the various components can readily be separated, and the set makes for a lovely conversation piece. It only took me a few hours to assemble but it was missing two hinges (I have two hinges of the wrong type) and one wrong colored piece. The book was easy to follow and was chock full of information on the historical Apollo 11 moon lander. I'd recommend it to any Lego enthusiast or fan of NASA, history, and outer space.

Highly detailed lander!

Since I own all of the space kits I decided fo purchase this to finish my collection. Not hard but looks amazing finished. Looks very cool on display and is very solid. Removing some of the snap together pieces like to expose the inside are a little problematic but still worth it. Well worth the money.

This is my favorite set to date

I just finished this build, and it’s by far the best piece I’ve ever built. I can’t quite put my finger on it but something about this set has me completely enamored of it. The build was repetitive, but fun. It took me no more than a couple of hours total. The end product is just stunning. I absolutely love this set. It displays so well next to my ISS, Saturn rocket, and (not pictured) space shuttle/Hubble.
