This is just an incredible model. It is unmistakable as the lunar lander. Lunar surface has multiple uses. Lego, always amazing!

Nice Addition to the Space Pantheon

This set is a nice addition to my LEGO collection. I previously bought the Saturn V rocket set, while at LEGO Land in Florida, and LOVED that set. This set adds to that set by expanding upon the details of the lander.
While the Lander is not technically accurate (scaling, missing elements, etc), it is a wonderful representation of an historic moment and a technical achievement in our story to learn about space. I do agree that printed pieces would have been better given the level this set was, but stickers did not necessarily detract from the beauty of the model.
It took about two hours to build the set and it was a joy seeing it come together. My family loved watching it come together over the Christmas afternoon and they got excited when a stage was done, etc.
I was also really excited because I have had the idea to use the Saturn V Rocket set to do a stop motion video explaining the mission to the moon. This set will allow me to take this idea to the next level and share how they landed on the moon and the activities they undertook.
Overall, this is a great set and well worth the effort to put together. I am sure it will be a part of my assembled collection for years to come.

Best Birthday present

This was given to me as a birthday present by my kids. It is the best present they ever got me. It was not difficult to build. There were a couple times where I had to look at the pictures a few times to make sure I was doing it right. I have built several sets with my kids years ago and now several sets with my grandkids, so I am not an expert builder. But, this was very straightforward. It brought back a lot of memories of watching the Apollo launches and moonwalks. I recommend this set for anyone, but particularly those of us who lived through this era.

Great Model

Just in time for the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing this model should delight those, like me, old enough to remember it and even those that have only seen movies and historical documents about that event.
The build of the model was very fun. Lots of details inside that only the one building the model will likely know are there, like the fuel tanks.
The instructions are clear and easy to follow. My 6 yo son helped with part of the build, once he got bored and wanted to move on to other things I was able to pick up my pace on building it.
On July 20, 1969 my family celebrated my dads birthday by having a party outside. We took our black and white TV with rabbit ears outside so we wouldn't miss the landing. This model, like the Saturn V rocket are perfect models for those of us that grew up with the space race and LEGOs at the same time.

i'm 47 years old and i've been playing with legos since i was 5 or so. until this set was introduced, my favorite build has been the star fleet voyager from the early 80s. this set looks awesome on my desk at work and i get many folks asking about it. they think it's a scale model until they see the lego astronauts...then they realize it's a toy. LOL.

Apollo 11 Lunar Lander

I work in the space industry and bought this to have my daughter who LOVES legos build for my office shelf. She had a blast building this over Thanksgiving weekend. I've bought her several sets over the many years, but this build was a challenge of pure love. It will now be proudly displayed in my home office.
