As a pianist for 9 years, this is the first purchase I made with real money, and it was definetely worth it. On the pricier end, I'll admit, but the detail to this is amazing. I will say this is a little more fragile than meets the eye and had some destruction when building it, but end product is absolutely beautiful.

My son has been building for years, I’ve probably spent a quarter of my income over the years on legos. Generally he will leave reviews after a build but this one?!? I had to chime in. I’m blown away by the creativity of this set, not to mention the mechanics and Bluetooth integration that provides fun not just for the builder but for anyone who experiences it. Absolutely stunning piece. What would be even better, is if there was additional pieces that could play together! I know I would jump on additional builds to complete the set!

This set was the most fun I have ever had putting it together and the end result was amazing. This might be the best thing Lego has ever put out and that's going up against the Harry Potter Castle which was also an amazing set. I would definitely recommend this set to any Lego enthusiast.

This was my absolute favorite build that I have done thus far! As an accomplished pianist, this set immediately caught my eye, and I just had to get it. I had relatively high expectations, and I was absolutely blown away by the detail and thought that was put into this set. You look at a standard baby grand piano, and you look at this, and the similarities are stunning! The way the hammers and dampers activate with the keys mirror an actual piano, the LEGO branding on the key cover, the full functionality of the lid and music stand, everything about this was amazing. I cannot recommend this set enough!

Wonderful detail, iffy mechanics

I guess I lucked out and hit my local Lego store at the right time to purchase this Grand Piano. I saw it advertised on a classical FM Facebook page and knew I had to get it. Construction was smooth, if a little tedious due to the repetition of making 25 working keys. The overall look of the piano is amazing and true to detail. My only complaint is in the mechanics. The motor doesn't always turn the spindle for the key movement and will get stuck. There is a function to reset the keys to a neutral position and that doesn't work. The motor also has a very high pitched whining noise that takes away from the enjoyment of the music. Regardless, i highly recommend this model if you can find it.

You guys all say that this set is stupid because you can't actually play the piano. Well, in the specifications it CLEARLY states that you can "Pretend to play along". It literally says that you can't actually play the song with the keys, you PRETEND. Also, from what I know, it would be quite hard to make the keys periodically play the actual notes. There aren't enough keys on the piano to do that, so it would have to be way bigger. It's not very fair to condemn Lego when they have tons of amazing sets. Yes, there are some flaws, but it's better than I, or most anyone could do. I also think it's dumb for you to just go through and click on one star for everything. You say you have many sets, but you put one star on your play experience. Give an honest report for the people who are actually wondering if they should buy this set.
