After building all of the modulars, this is one of my favorites. I hope another corner comes out soon. I really like the exterior design of this set.

All in all, this was a great set to build. It was my second modualr (first being downtown diner) and it was a lot of fun to build.

You get a bunny, frog, parrot, and a dog!

I decided to build this one differently from my previous 4 modular buildings--I built it from the top down! After completing the roof and having to deal with the pie shape and triangular elements, I was prepared for them when I began the top floor. The garage has some interesting elements, including the grease rack raising and lowering. With frogs and rabbits among Dr. Jones' clientele, I can understand why he doesn't provide care for snakes. I don't think an architect would put the water closet next to the kitchen but it adds some interesting angles to the room.

My message to everyone who wants to buy this set would be this... YOU MUST BUY THIS SET. this set truly shows what it was like back in the day. I love the little details and the set it self looks amazing. The garage floor is actually more exiting than it sounds. I love the lever that is included so you can lift up the tow truck that is included in the set. And I love how LEGO includes a lot of tools. I also very much love the second floor were the animal care place is. I personally love the fish tank and the rabbit animal is probably the best LEGO element ever produced. And finally I really love the third floor we’re there is a guy who lives inside of his apartment. I can almost picture me inside of that apartment.
All and all this set was amazing to put together. And my final message to the designers is the please keep up the great work. So far I love all of the modulars that were made. I really can’t wait until 2020 to see what you guys come up with.
Thank you so much.

A better hospital
on February 4, 2019

We have built most of the creator expert models (as well as sending less advanced models to the grandkids). A new hobby for us. This is the first of the line that we decided from the beginning to modify, as well as the first to use 2 kits. We are building a hospital of 4 floors. Thus no garage door or lift, but the canopy is good. A city hospital kit is also helping out with parts. We just could not see a vet shop above a garage and the apartment on the 3rd floor looked, well, not very interesting. The interior space per floor is also rather limited. We did build the tow truck, a nice small build all on its own. So, all in all, a nice set for redesign and most definitely better than the Downtown Dinner. That just inspired us to design our own dinner, Nessie's Grill (we have a loch Nessie in our Lego town canal). We owe the suggestion of a hospital to someone commenting on Eurobricks. Thanks!

My thoughts

This is an absolute awesome build! Great play functions and design, as for the play ability, I would recommend this for younger children as the space is very small to play in. The building, I agree, for ages 16 and up but the play ability is best for young children. The design is great, I like how they have added in a lot of windows to let in a lot of natural light. The 50's car is a great vehicle, love the design and the play functions are awesome. Overall, an awesome product LEGO. If you are considering buying this for your LEGO City or for play ability for your children, I would highly recommend this beauty!

A Great Addition to the Modular Line
on March 29, 2020

This set comes equipped with remarkably detailed and fun-to-construct interior portions, with a great color pallete and some nice minifigs, too! One small problem is that the tow truck cannot fit perfectly through the garage's door, but this can be easily remedied by removing the section above to place it inside or using another car from a different set, and that's only if you're interested in playability or displaying the set with the truck inside. Overall, a wonderful set with great design. I personally have it paired with set 10270 "Bookshop"; either of the buildings in this set match nicely with this one, and the patterns on the walkway meld together nicely, as well.

Eh...but it is a decent corner building build

First off, this set has alot....I mean alot...of 1x1 stud bricks/plates/pieces. That is what ups the pieces count!
Second, the two distinct things on this set is the roll up garage door and the car lift - both well designed and functional!
Third, about 30% of the footprint is plates (aka pavement). That does not leave much for the building.
The "eh" comment is because this was not my favorite modular building. If you are a collector of them, you have to buy it - if you are a casual builder, pass on this one and get a different building. There is not much interior detail and it is a bit dis-jointed (apologize to the designers....they did not have much real estate to work with).
