Excellent!

This is a great buy and an excellent build. It is time consuming and although the dimensions are listed, it still seems bigger than I anticipated. The only *hard* part was connecting the chain together that lifts the cars up to the top. You need to have the right tension or it won't bring the cars up to the top properly. Overall, if I had it to do over again, I'd still purchase this set.

Very challenging build. Rewarding!

I have built hundreds of Lego sets over the years. First, as a child, then again as an adult with children of my own who now enjoy Lego. This was a relatively challenging build, given the size, gears to run the roller coaster cars, and the many shapes and angles. I highly recommend this set for anyone who enjoys spending several days/nights working a few hours at a time. In the end, it's really rewarding to see the set working as it should. My kids love it!

Great With One Minor Problem . . . .

After purchasing the other parts of amusement park, I was really hopeful that they'd create a comparable roller coaster. They did and it is AWESOME! It's a very complicated build with all of the usual quirks (e.g., why not have us build the columns in a bag all at one time?) that I've come to expect from these Expert sets. The set works beautifully (!) when you run the roller coaster manually (i.e., turning the cranks).
My only problem is that when using the Power Functions, it seems to be running so fast the chain gets hung up in the top section of the apparatus. I can spin it manually pretty fast, but if I connect the Power Function it is running so fast, something goes wrong. But that's fine (unless Lego has a fix?) for general play and display since I don't use the Power Functions much.
All around a great set. Yay Lego!

Hey there! As long as you're using our AAA Battery Box, the motor will run at a standard speed and definitely shouldn't be giving you any trouble. If that's the case, something's likely a little off with one of the gears near the top (too tight, slightly off position, etc.) and a little rebuilding of that section should help.

My goodness. Good job LEGO. It takes up 80% of my kitchen table. This roller coaster is incredible. Took me a long time to build, but it was SO WORTH IT!

Real Life Fun

This set is so much fun. It's the perfect complement to the other Fairgrounds pieces. Especially love that the momentum built up on the first hill takes the car around the entire track. Great job LEGO!!!

Perfectly balanced

Was really looking forward to getting this set, end wasn’t disappointed one bit.
A really fun and challenging build.
It’s only when you finish you appreciate just how good the design is. It’s perfectly balanced which my kids were more than pleased with when playing with it.
A great model. Well worth the time and money.
