So Much Fun!!!!

I love this Coaster! I will admit, I was a bit intimidated by this set. I'm not great with lots of gear building. It really wasn't as bad as I thought. It took me about 12 hours over two days to build this set. And I actually got the gears right the first time! It worked! I will say, there are a few spots during the build, when I was glad I have skinny fingers. Like threading the chain. Now that I have it up, I'm going to go ahead with my whole fairground. I have some really neat ideas adding Joker Manor, Joker land and some Friends sections, to create a fun summer fair!

A Creator Fan Dream

Finally we have the last component missing from the LEGO theme park. The Coaster is a fantastically conceived build in Minifig Scale. Mechanically this set works very well and the designers made the correct choice to make power functions optional. This kept the price slightly more affordable for those on a budget, but still yearning for a high-end LEGO set. Plus it gives builders the option to use any motor/power sets from LEGO history if they wish. Being an engineering based set with both structural and mechanical aspects incorporated, this was a great opportunity to present many different construction techniques. The added fun elements such as reversible minifig heads, photos and other features make this a very satisfying build. So now we have 7 different LEGO narrow gauge track sections which fit well to allow construction of many coaster layouts. I am in agreement with many other fans that if this set performs well in the market place, then LEGO should seriously consider further coaster design sets. I can visualize in my head that two further rail sections could be designed to create a loop-the-loop and similarly two rail sections designed to achieve a corkscrew inversion. A 45' curve track section would make possibilities almost endless. The imagination scope for theming new coaster designs such as runaway minecars, Dragon fantasies etc. would add great interest and appeal. The size of coaster has no bounds so I of course would love to see an even larger set.... 10,000 pieces? Don't let Star Wars UCS steal all the glory! Overall I think this is a hugely welcomed addition to the LEGO world and makes an impressive statement when taking over the top of your entire coffee table. Great job LEGO!

There is 2 of us, LEGO builders, husband and wife :) we build and we play together. Our city takes most of our living room space!
This set was a bit repetitive, in places, but very exciting to build. Every detail has been designed and engineered carefully. We must admit that you have got very clever ideas at LEGO :D
It is a bit pricy but let's face it, we all Lego fans will buy it no matter the cost! :D It is HUGE, takes a lot of space but is a perfect piece that works with our Theme Park which consists of of Ferris Wheel, Carousel, Mixer and yet to build Pirate Roller Coaster and The joker Manor.
Don't think about it, just buy it!!! :)

My favorite set!

This has been by far my favorite set to build thus far. It was the perfect balance of challenge and fun. Of course, it’s amazing to have it finished and able to run (get the motor; it’s so worth it!), but I also love the details. It looks exactly like a roller coaster you would find at an amusement park - it has a sign telling how tall you must be to ride it; it has a (fake) camera that takes your pic while you are on the ride; it has a place where riders wait to get on; it has a small area with two tracks where a ride can store extra cars; and so much more!!! I think builders will be pleasantly surprised with all that’s included. Side note: for the holiday season, I have decorated mine with red bows and it still runs!!

My parents actually surprised me with this. It's my first Lego set ever. It was easy to put together. I finished it in about 12 hours. I'd love to know how I can buy more pieces to create 2 more trains for this?

Incredible Dream Set

I was so excited when I saw this set was for out. As a coaster enthusiast and a Lego Fan it was a must have. Glad I did. This set was so fun to build with my 9 year old. It was a great STEM teaching. I went ahead and bought the M-Motor an XL- Motor (overkill I know but man do those trains get up the lift fast) and battery pack. Also bought a controller and IR receiver to operate the chain and station wheel. My 2 toddlers love to watch the trains go around the track. This set is big, so if you plan on the purchase, make sure you have the space to showcase it.

Light kit
on January 8, 2020

I bought this for my son for Christmas. I ended up building this for him because it's just too difficult for a child his age to sit and build. After it was built, I attached a light kit. This made it really come to life. I also bought the power supply. The only issue with the power supply that I have is the location of the power supply because you have to reach through, or over the supports or track. For me, it's ok because Im bigger, but for my son, since he's small, has a difficult time reaching and pressing the button. For example, one night when he tried to press the button, his arm knocked some of the track off.

Engaging and Challenging build

While it seems like there is a lot of repetition with this build, the fact is that you have to pay attention. The structural supports seem the same, but they are not - different heights and features depending on where they go in the overall build. There are a ton of fun details and it is very satisfying to see this coaster go! I estimate about an hour per "chapter" and there are 11 total. Be sure to build on a sturdy base, the base plates are not strong enough to hold this structure if you need to move it.
