The carts stopped rolling on the tracks correctly.

The coaster structure is impressive, but it sure is disappointing that the carts never make it past the first curve over the ticket booth after a couple weeks of owning it. I even wiped the tracks to make sure it wasn't dust preventing the carts from finishing their journey, but no matter what they always grind to a halt in the same spot.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

While dust could gum up the works, sounds like this is more a build issue. Sometimes if the rails and supports aren't pressed tightly enough, they can get a little out of alignment after a lot of use. Some adjustment there should make everything run A-Okay again.

After watching the first season of LEGO Masters, I wanted to buy a set that moved. This coaster is incredible. Hands down the most I’ve spent on one set but the amount of pieces and details definitely make sense for the price.
I took my time with the build as it was very easy to overlook things and mess up. For the people that complain about this set, I think it is user-error related. Take your time, enjoy the build and you will have a beautiful functioning coaster.
I opted to motorized it and I highly recommended that as well. The battery box was a little touchy but I finally got the batteries to work by moving them around. Unlike some, I thought the online ordering made it clear that the set did not come with the motor and it would have to be added. I agree with others that it should be just included in the set.
Lastly, I had to take out 5 tracks in order for it to work at all, so keep that in mind if it’s not working right away.
Overall, thank you LEGO for making my quarantine so enjoyable!

Fun but Flimsy

You do need to lube or grease the axels of the roller coaster cars because there are some imperfections along the track and rails and the cars do not sometimes make it through a full loop.
Also, the build is a bit flimsy. You need to be very careful when moving this from place to another.

Thanks for your review. We do not recommend using any lubricants on the roller coaster. Oily substances like that aren't good for the plastic and could make the bricks break. If your roller coaster isn't running s smoothly as you'd like, it's a good idea to do a bit of rebuilding. Make sure everything's aligned just so, and your roller coaster will have no trouble rolling.

1st Expert Lego set I’ve bought and it’s awesome! It’s an expert set for a reason but the instructions are great to help you build it. Once it’s built you’ll have years of fun! I received all my pieces and now I can’t wait to build more Lego masterpieces! Thanks Lego for being Awesome!

Fantastic set

I really enjoyed building the coaster. It feels a little big magical every time the cars make it all the way around back to the start, it's just so cool. Adding the motor made the set even more fun. I was able to get two sets of cars going at the same time, though every once in a while would have to hold one back a bit to space them out again.
It was not an easy build. It was a bit repetitive, so it seems like it would be easy, but it's a bit more tricky than other sets I have built. Usually I build a set and it works. I found that this one needed some tweaking. I made sure everything was connected solidly and pushed tightly together, but the cars kept jumping the track at a couple of joins.
Eventually I figured out that those areas needed just a bit more or less height in the pillars, and was able to modify them with pieces I had on hand, to make everything stable. Now the tracks don't come apart and the cars run smoothly.
The coaster also has a lot of play value. I'm not usually one to play with the sets much, but it was a joy to add a bunch of detail. There are places to add birds or minifigs, I have Batman watching over everyone. Emmet, Rey, Finn, Luke, and R2 are placed around the set or in the cars. The hidden side plane has crashed in the middle. It's just so much fun to fill the spaces with little stories.

My 9 year old helped to build this set. He said it is just wow. Pay close attention to the instructions especially when building the mechanism under the platform.
We got the motor and battery pack which really is a must to experience this set. We set it up next to the Ferris wheel and had hours of fun.

What a great fun build. The coaster is large and so much fun. I built it and my nephew and I had fun for a long time with the coaster. Definitely recommend!
