Roller coaster

The roller coaster was really fun to play with. However for me I’m not really a great LEGO builder.. so it took me more time than needed to. I did not build 24 hours each day but about 3 hours each day.

Cool coaster. Bad value

They greatly inflated the piece count on this one. Cool roller coaster when finished but was not nearly worth the money. Should've at least included motorized functions at this price.

I was really excited to build this and the attention to detail is pretty awesome, from the characters faces to the concession stands.
Having said that, I had many missing pieces (green leaves for the trees/flowers and the small green circles used to attach them.) I made it work by not putting as many leaves as are meant to be on the trees, but this makes it look bare. I also adjusted the flowers by only using one leaf (instead of the intended two and/or) attaching it directly to the base, rather than using the green circle that elevates it. I was disappointed to have missing pieces for such an expensive set!!!

Hi there! Thanks for your review. It's definitely unsual to having pieces missing. I'd recommend double-checking that they haven't gotten stuck somewhere (the corner of the bags is a common culprit). If they're not hiding there, don't worry! We have a super-simple replacement parts service you can use to request the parts you need. Just go to LEGO.com/Service and choose the "Bricks & Pieces" option.

Although this is a fantastic model I just feel that it should have included the power block as standard for the price that your paying
The model is easy to construct and does work very well

Major Maniac here reviewing the roller coaster. I mostly stick to the modular buildings, trains, and marvel set, but when Lego came out with this, I had to have it. What an awesome set and perfect addition to the line of fair rides that Lego has started. (I'm hoping to see the teacups, zipper, scrambler, or swings in the future.). So lets get to it.
This is a simple, yet complex build. Its simple because of the same build techniques used over and over. But its complex in the way that it all fits together. The structure is fairly rigid with the exception of a few critical weak points. I will admit, I was building this on a card table, so it was not entirely level or solid. I think that lack of stability highlighted some of the issues I was having.
Basically, there are a couple of critical weak points which are not supported well. Those weak points cause structural failures preventing the coaster from operating correctly. When I add this set to a permanent layout, I plan to modify it in order to improve the structure. Other than that, it is still a really cool set.
There are lots of characters, the additional stands make it feel like its part of a bigger park or fair, and its easily motorized. This set will look great with the Ferris wheel and Carousel.
Overall, a few hiccups, but still a great set!

Captivating

OK, 11 days I hear you say for a build. Mmmmm would have been done in 24hrs maybe solid but we rationed it as it was so amazing we wanted to make it last so we tackled 1 set of numbered bags a day and there were 11 sets in total. It was hard not rushing ahead but drawing it out added to the build.
It was an interesting build. By the nature of the model it was quite repetitive however LEGO managed to break up what could have been monotony with mixing in mini builds so you weren’t concentrating on say just the track for hours on end.
PROs - well look at it, words really aren’t needed. This is possibly one of my most impressive sets and I have a fair few. There is nothing not to like. I bought the motor functions and they are really worth it as an add on, you can literally sit looking at it for hours, it’s quite captivating. If you have the money or are considering spending this kind of money on a set this should definitely be in the running. It is big but worth the space.
CONs - maybe make it easier to detach in two half’s for transportation but I get this would possibly compromise stability. A little more detail, for example the gum under the seat on the bus is amazing, something only the builder knows is there, a little Easter egg almost. However this is my major gripe. Get the pieces right! Seriously LEGO I spent just shy of £300 on a model with you, I expect it to be right however instead of getting 2 1x6 flat pieces I get 1 2x6 flat piece. Luckily I had some in white I bleached up and used but really, every set I buy seems to have issues with the bricks, I shouldn’t be experiencing problems of that nature.
Overall great product though, think it should be sold as a power function set and the motors included as standard with the option to add them into the build as it totally makes the set.

This is was the funnest set I have ever built! I have the Death star and I say this was way harder then the Death star. This set is so fun to play with! I only have one complaint. The roller coaster is not sturdy at all. But over all I loved it!

Oh no! It’s very rare for a LEGO® set to be missing pieces. Usually you’ll find them stuck in the packaging, used in place of a similar piece, or hiding somewhere near your building area.

If you’ve checked all over and the parts haven't appeared, don’t worry! It’s super easy to request replacements. Just go to LEGO.com/Service and choose the “Bricks & Pieces” option to get started.
