lousy design

have built many lego kits lately.I agree with the people who say the stand is sub standard and will sway like crazy.even the ac fan will tip it over. it cannot handle the weight of the model.Also agree that the large bricks wont stay where they are put unless superglued.very annoying. and god forbid if you try to move it just make sure you put a giant blanket on the floor to catch the flying bricks.now make sure you tell me to "check my build"

Must see it before you judge others opinion

The most common discussion on this set will no doubt be how “high” the “dollar to brick” ratio is and if this set is really worth it. Please consider a few of these things first, and most importantly go see and pick up the set in person before you make any rash or uninformed judgements yourself.
Yes, this set is almost half the pieces and yet only $100 cheaper than the Millennium Falcon, but it actually feels (based on picking up the box) heavier and i think they say it is. Also consider that there are tons more large plates and thick heavy studs, pieces that naturally carry higher prices in here than some small thin parts.
Also, this set is appreciably longer than the Falcon and has considerable width in the back to rival it as well. It’s a total upgrade over the prior ISD in detail, size and scale. If You haven’t purchased the Super Star Destroyer then this may be the set for you. It’s bigger and definitely doesn’t seem as plain or boring to me than that set.
Drawbacks on this set are the mini figures included and the hollow interior to get used to. Yes, they could have offered several more figures and droids that relate to this ship (Darth Vader?!?). There are no real playable compartments hidden inside for mini figures anyway, like the Falcon and most sets included. It’s literally just a big shell with colored struts and framing inside.
Overall, I’m giving this set a good 4 of 5. It is HUGE and HEAVY and packs tremendous outside detailing. It would have been perfect had it included several more limited edition mini gigs related to it and maybe a few playable areas able to be hidden inside. It’s the second most expensive set so it’s a must have for those “top ten” collector types out there.

Best Star Destroyer Set Ever!

I knew I had to have this set as soon as I heard about it. This was the first time I've ever shelled out that kind of money for a Lego set but it was definitely worth it. I had a good time building it despite it being fairly repetitive. I spent about 20 hours building over the course of a long weekend and now it has its own corner in my room; out of direct sunlight of course. Would absolutely recommend to any fan of Star Wars and especially Lego fans.

Perfect gift for STAR WARS fan

I bought it on the 1st day of saling for my son's coming birthday. This will be definitly a big surprise for him as STAR WARS fan.
The set is huge and heavy. And the price is the 2nd highest among the current in the Lego store.
I would recommend this to a friend!

One of the largest sets ever made

This is such a massive model. It is something that demands presence on a shelf, and for good reason. This is a gorgeous build with tons of great details on it. The amount of small pieces used really help to bring everything together. It's a build that looks good from every angle, and is very hard to find flaws. It is also very sturdy, so it doesn't break too easily. Although, just because they are hard to find, that doesn't mean there are flaws. Some plates on the build don't connect to other pieces as well since there aren't as many studs on the surface or underside of them. There are also a few small bits of color inconsistencies, but those aren't too bad. There isn't much playability on it, but it's ok since it's not meant to be playable. The minifigure selection is admittedly a bit lackluster. They aren't bad figures, but it could've been much better. The value here is good. Although the part count is very low for the price, it's a very large and bulky build, to the point that the amount of pieces is irrelevant. Overall, It's a very good set worth getting, but it's just got a few tiny flaws that prevent a perfect 10/10. So now it's a 9.5/10

Fun to build

I managed to bust out building this within 2 days, and every second of putting it together was fun. There were a few spots I messed up, but was able to easily figure it out. The instructions are very easy to follow, too.
