Well worth it's weight.

While the piece count is about half the millennium falcon, it actually weighs more. If you factor in set weight against price vs cost per piece, this is a better deal than the falcon.
While it's lacking an interior and it's minifig count is disappointingly low, the structure is leagues ahead of the 2002 UCS Star Destroyer. Compared to that one that's held together with hopes and dreams, this is a very sturdy set that even comes with a carrying handle!
It's also a more accurate model. The proportions are way better. It's longer, a bit wider, and shorter compared to 2002. If you took both side-by-side next to the original Devastator model used in the movie (The Destroyer in A New Hope that it's modeled after), there'd be no contest. This is far more accurate.
If you have the space (and Money!) it's a must get.

An excellent build. Well worth the price

This set is definitely worth the price. Took a while to put together but it was a fun activity. The level of detail is incredible too. Only issue was that the TIE fighter that came with the set was too big. So I just made a new smaller one. I also built more rebel ships to go with it and modified an older star destroyer set to be a victory class.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very fragile

I put it together with no problems. The problem came when it was time to move it. Do not ever bump it when moving. It is very fragile. Had to take it apart and rebuild it which was frustrating.

“She’s a classic”

I rate the set itself a 10/10. It has fascinating details, and the category of playability shouldn’t be added to these ‘UCS’ sets. I quite enjoy the various building techniques that were applied, especially bags 1-5. The Technic bits in the building were quite intriguing and something I quite enjoyed. However I do feel the set had flaws just like everything. One flaw I see is the paneling of the gray pieces. In some areas you can see red, yellow and other pieces under the gray panels you add to the ship. Another problem is the lack of mini figures. The two imperial mini figures are quite nice on their own and compared to other imperial officers. However it would’ve been more encouraging to a Lego customer to receive a exclusive chrome Stormtrooper (and one more exclusive imperial droid or other mini figure) if they wanted to buy the set. Although its flaws are noteworthy, I do still recommend this set, if you have the space, money and time to build it. Great job on this set Lego!!

Terrific display piece

The build was absolutely amazing, the ship itself is surprisingly sturdy and stable. The ship looks stunning and the level of detail is immense. Overall, even for the hefty price tag, I’d definitely say if you’ve got the money to burn then this set is the way to go. The only gripe I’ve got is that this is Darth Vader’s star destroyer, but the set for some reason doesn’t have a Darth Vader minifigure. Only a very minor problem, but not a massive one as you can just buy a Vader fig online for a few dollars. Luckily I had one sitting around to put on the stand.

Excellent detail but a bit flimsy

The technic interior makes the majority of this a strong build. However the top plates are very flimsy and will break apart when snapping them in, multiple times. I am no expert by any definition and hopefully I can get some advice at Brickworld Milwaukee 2021 as I have stopped working this model. Frustrating beyond words. However, it is visually impressive and the size is perfect.

Not easy to build

Panels are constantly coming apart, this product is not well designed. Broke one part to rebuild panel. What is going on? You now owe me a new part. I paid alot of for this model, you can do better.

Needs a better stand

Hours of fun and an awesome outcome, however, the stand is very wobbly for such a large piece. You can hardly touch the ship without the base almost buckling. Also, the larger pieces were warped. I've never seen this on a LEGO set before, which made it very difficult to get the larger main pieces together. (they would pop apart due the the large panel pieces not being completely flat) Might be part of the problem with the stability, not sure. Very large, very delicate, but gorgeous.
