It’s a very good set but..

I love this set. it has so much detail to it and i think the model is amazing. The technic skeleton holds and is very sturdy. i recommend this set if you have the money to spare, have room for it, and are ready to be super fragile with it. Although i love it, it took hours of repairing the panels. The outside is very unstable and if you’re trying to stretch one panel, a different one falls apart. The handle is nice to have but it’s a bit weighted forward making it really hard to move around and display without potentially knocking something off. i would definitely recommend looking into the build process more before deciding on your purchase.

looks great, super frail, parts break under strain

while the devastator looks amazing while together, it isn't together as often as you'd like. in particular the bottom of the ship is attached partially with the plastic balls that clip into half-sphere holders, and over time most of those holder parts seem to be breaking, making the bottom of the ship sag severely. going to need to replace many of those parts, hopefully only once...

I decided to treat myself. I’d been looking for secondhand Star Destroyers for some time, and after hard consideration I went for this one.
Let me tell you, it was a hit to my bank account, but this is by far the best item in my collection. Insanely intricate but not difficult, if not a little tedious. The build is repetitive but in a very good way. It’s very rewarding to see this ship assemble step by step, and though it looks scary in the instructions and on the box, it’s a very fun build for intermediate or advanced builders.
I wish the figure selection was a little better for a set in this price range, though an officer with molded legs and a crew member with printed arms are always a yes from me. Another thing you’ll always hear about this set: pictures really don’t do it justice. This thing is massive, almost 4 feet long when assembled.
If you can safely afford this set, and you’re into the Ultimate Collector’s line of sets, absolutely go for it!

Bad design

Building Technics were similar to what I used as a toddler, the ship would spontaneously fall apart, and was impossible to move. Looked awesome when it was done though.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fairly solid with a few flaws

What you see is what you get. This set doesn't do anything and is purely a display piece. The building experience was alright. It was very repetitive as you have to build very similar sections twice. Attaching the side panels was also very frustrating as you had to put apply pressure to fragile parts of the build to get them to snap into place. Besides that it was overall a very solid build experience. The completed build is very nice, being way larger than I expected and being jam packed with details. My only complaint would be the few places where colors from the interior can be seen from the outside. It's annoying to see this on such a high priced set, especially when it would've been as simple as changing those parts to grey. Overall though it doesn't take too much away from the build.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This lego was super fun to build! To begin with, it is super huge and super detailed. The lego also is amazing on display, especially with the newer Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser! Super fun to build! It was a fun challenge, and I had to clear up some space on my lego shelf to fit it. Goes well with the rest of the collection and really comes to life when you get the lighting kit, looks truly amazing! It is a tad bit repetitive, though it still was a very good overall set and I really liked the way that the tower looked. There are a ton of different interesting details in this set that you can really notice if you lean in to take a closer look! I especially liked the Tantive IV that came with the set, was very cute, and super small! GREAT JOB LEGO!!!
