It’s a very good set but..

I love this set. it has so much detail to it and i think the model is amazing. The technic skeleton holds and is very sturdy. i recommend this set if you have the money to spare, have room for it, and are ready to be super fragile with it. Although i love it, it took hours of repairing the panels. The outside is very unstable and if you’re trying to stretch one panel, a different one falls apart. The handle is nice to have but it’s a bit weighted forward making it really hard to move around and display without potentially knocking something off. i would definitely recommend looking into the build process more before deciding on your purchase.

Amazing Set

This is a set you really just have to see in person. I knew it would be big; I did the measurements to make sure I had the space. But it didn't really set in until I had completed the frame. The sheer scale and detail of this set are truly something to behold.
If you have the money (and space), I definitely think this set is worth the money.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Fun build but horrible quality control

I'm only part way in my build. I have been building it along with my 10 year old son. So far it's been... frustrating. The building isn't hard, as long as you have all the pieces. We're part way through bag set 7 and I just had to put in my THIRD missing parts request. So now it will sit, taking up table space for yet another week or two while I wait for the piece to be sent and hope that once I get it I don't find yet another missing piece. And in some previous bags I have had extras of other pieces. This isn't a cheap kit. Seriously, Lego. If you're going to continue charging premium prices for these kits, you need to get your quality control on the same premium level. Looking through some of these other lower star reviews, this a more common problem than your statements of "missing pieces are rare" would indicate. So buyer beware. The kit has been really fun to build so far, but that fun comes grinding to a halt when there's yet another missing piece.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

looks great, super frail, parts break under strain

while the devastator looks amazing while together, it isn't together as often as you'd like. in particular the bottom of the ship is attached partially with the plastic balls that clip into half-sphere holders, and over time most of those holder parts seem to be breaking, making the bottom of the ship sag severely. going to need to replace many of those parts, hopefully only once...

If you can afford it, go for it!

I decided to treat myself. I’d been looking for secondhand Star Destroyers for some time, and after hard consideration I went for this one.
Let me tell you, it was a hit to my bank account, but this is by far the best item in my collection. Insanely intricate but not difficult, if not a little tedious. The build is repetitive but in a very good way. It’s very rewarding to see this ship assemble step by step, and though it looks scary in the instructions and on the box, it’s a very fun build for intermediate or advanced builders.
I wish the figure selection was a little better for a set in this price range, though an officer with molded legs and a crew member with printed arms are always a yes from me. Another thing you’ll always hear about this set: pictures really don’t do it justice. This thing is massive, almost 4 feet long when assembled.
If you can safely afford this set, and you’re into the Ultimate Collector’s line of sets, absolutely go for it!

Bad design

Building Technics were similar to what I used as a toddler, the ship would spontaneously fall apart, and was impossible to move. Looked awesome when it was done though.
