Perfect gift for STAR WARS fan

I bought it on the 1st day of saling for my son's coming birthday. This will be definitly a big surprise for him as STAR WARS fan.
The set is huge and heavy. And the price is the 2nd highest among the current in the Lego store.
I would recommend this to a friend!

One of the largest sets ever made

This is such a massive model. It is something that demands presence on a shelf, and for good reason. This is a gorgeous build with tons of great details on it. The amount of small pieces used really help to bring everything together. It's a build that looks good from every angle, and is very hard to find flaws. It is also very sturdy, so it doesn't break too easily. Although, just because they are hard to find, that doesn't mean there are flaws. Some plates on the build don't connect to other pieces as well since there aren't as many studs on the surface or underside of them. There are also a few small bits of color inconsistencies, but those aren't too bad. There isn't much playability on it, but it's ok since it's not meant to be playable. The minifigure selection is admittedly a bit lackluster. They aren't bad figures, but it could've been much better. The value here is good. Although the part count is very low for the price, it's a very large and bulky build, to the point that the amount of pieces is irrelevant. Overall, It's a very good set worth getting, but it's just got a few tiny flaws that prevent a perfect 10/10. So now it's a 9.5/10

Fun to build

I managed to bust out building this within 2 days, and every second of putting it together was fun. There were a few spots I messed up, but was able to easily figure it out. The instructions are very easy to follow, too.

Fantastic Set

I received this set a gift for Christmas and i would say it is very awesome to look at when it is done and while you build. I would say it could have been a little less expensive due to the number of pieces that set contains but overall it was a fantastic build. I even thought about taking it apart and building it again! Very detailed!

This is an Amazing Set

My parents bought me this set for my 14th birthday, and I loved it. I am impressed with the improvements from the 2002 model. I will admit, I never received that model but have seen youtube videos and pictures of it, and the improvements are drastic. I understand why people are salty about the price, but it is a great price for the piece count, and the significance of the vessel in the Star Wars franchise. I enjoyed putting it together, and it was also challenging. However, for me, I have it as a display piece only, because of size, weight, and for how fragile it is. I do not trust many people with it solely because I feel that if it were to break, I would struggle putting it back together because of the intricate design. All in all, this was a great set and would highly recommend it.

Devastator Star Destroyer #75252

Once completed, this is an absolutely outstanding looking Lego product. For Lego and Star Wars fans it would be hard to beat the "looks" of this set. My son and I put this together over 12 days, a section at a time and the build was made easy by the superb instruction manual that's in a large format that even us old geezers can easily read.
We found only a few things annoying, and the were minor compared to the quality of the overall product. Most notable is the stand is a bit weak and "wobbly" laterally, although transversely strong. When you live in earthquake country, a bit concerning, but a problem we solved with an aftermarket larger acrylic stand from Wicked Bricks. We also found it necessary to "beef up" the four bottom hull pieces where they join each other with some extra 2 x 6 flats, otherwise the joint is not exactly flush all across. Finally, the connection between the upper hull structure and the main hull could be a lot stronger than it is using different parts that would lock it down much better.
All things considered, however, this is a superb "collector edition" piece. For an old guy with two sons born in the seventies, forcing me to be both Lego and Star Wars literate, it was a fun project and the end result very impressive. Of course, we had many extra small parts available to "customize" the exterior so it's a unique build -- can't be like everybody else!

First off there is no way to measure how excited I was to finally get this. The Instruction Binder was bueatifully put together with great detail. The size and weight was outstanding. The only thing that made me a little disappointed was, I had hoped for internal rooms. Beside that this is my FAVORITE set EVER!!!
