I like the difficult build. But it is very hard to move and you can barely play with it. But it does look very cool and it makes a lovely display so I recommend to get this bookshop.

Beautiful set, exceeds expectations!

First off, I'm a 14 year old who's been building Lego since i can remember.This was my biggest yet (just above The Upside Down here -> https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/the-upside-down-75810), and I was not disappointed. I did have two very specific problems; the tree and the arch. The tree is not the most attractive so I resorted to replacing it with some flowers. My problem with the arch is that it is just a little fidgety so it's not too big of a deal. Overall, a very nice looking set.

Worth the wait, very enjoyable

Great box cover art, all pieces accounted for. A fun build and I would recommend this set. Pre-release, I checked blogs and YouTube videos so I pretty much knew what to expect relative to size and interior/exterior details.
The interiors are well done and the color palette is well thought out and uses fresh complimentary colors well.
I don't consider the set small. It really reflects the scale and quaintness of a past historical period.
Added interior detailing might just reduce exterior parts details and/or up the price, I'm happy with what I've got. Very intriguing details, a very solid build. The Townhouse roof and structure was obviously well thought out and was intriguing to build. Directions throughout were spot on. Works perfect in conjunction with my Assembly Square and Parisean restaurant. Ordered on Jan.1 and received 3 days later at Legos busiest time of the year. KUDDOS!

The inside of the build was lacking in some areas, but the exterior details were very impressive. Great architecture, design, and style. Was not as difficult as I thought, and adds some charm to my LEGO display!

Overall, this is a great set.
The buildings have great interiors with cool designs for furniture pieces and staircases. Love the color choices and the fall feeling. The exterior is (obviously) very detailed and is a great addition to any lego city or lego modular street, especially since you can split the buildings apart. 5 Minifigures are each unique and allows for great play experience.
This is my first set of the modular Creator Expert series, but I know that after building this one I will definitely go buy more. This set is great to do with a partner as there are also two booklets that each have one of the buildings. I can't wait to see the next design.
The reason my review did not receive a full 5 stars is because there is not much detail in the back of the build. Both of the two buildings do, however, have balconies and there is a small garden patch in the townhouse. The back feels empty and not inviting to play with.

A bit disappointed.

This is my favorite series of legos, and I am always excited to build these sets. However, the basement of the apartment build was very uninspiring. Is that a mouse trap, what is the bag for? And, also what is the point of the strange ladder like construction? The stairs go strait into the wall, I have never seen that before. Some parts of this build are elegant, but some parts are way past rudimentary and fall in to a juvenile aspect. What happened with this set? Outside is very pleasing but the inside there is a lack of story and skill. The book store itself is great, but the other half inside the apartment feels like they gave up and cut the design team down to nothing for the second half. Very disappointed in that aspect and this colors my view of the overall set. As someone with a collection that exceeds 65k legos, this is the first set I have written a review about that makes me sad.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The front is great, the sides are fine (for sides of a Modular building), and the back is rather lackluster. The first two floors of the bookshop are great, the top floor is okay. The townhouse is a little cramped, but the 1st floor is good. The figures are good too. My biggest complaint is that it didn't come with a vehicle. Not even a bicycle. The Police Station (10278) doesn't come with one either, a police station, but no police car. Please bring the vehicles back!
