Amazing build looks amazing on my desk with the Parisian restaurant only issue I had was missing a few pieces but I've been building since I was little and just thought it out and found ways that you cant tell
I would recommend this to a friend!

Oh no! Missing pieces are rare so it's very disappointing when they happen. No need to replace with pieces from your own collection though. Please head to: LEGO.build/BricksPieces-BV where you can request free replacement parts to complete your build!

A nice step back in time!

This is one of the best modulars yet to date. My favorite two aspects about the bookshop are (1) it goes back to older European/Victorian styles, and (2) it is only the second in the whole series to allow for it to be separated into two structures that can be switched as pictured, or integrated with other buildings. The color schemes are very nice, and those who appreciate the teal color found in the Diner will be pleased to see it in the blue residence. As with all modular, new building techniques are seen in several exterior details as well as with some nice minibuilds, especially the beds, cabinet, and clock. There are some very nice individual parts in the building experience such as the printed Moby Brick book piece, the pumpkin, umbrella, and a blue chameleon!
I really do not have any criticism for the bookshop other than I wish it had more individual book pieces. Otherwise, it was a very fun build, and it displays well with the rest of the modulars. In addition to getting away from the more plain modern structures, I am also glad to see the price come back down a bit. I highly recommend for any Creator Expert/Modular fan.

Amusing and Detailed Set

This is the first serious set I have bought myself in years. However, it touched a subject near and dear to my heart. I am a huge bibliophile and often would go to my local bookshops or library frequently. So while I have not bought a set in some time my already existing love for lego was increased ten fold by this charming little set. The details for both buildings are amazing with each following a an established pattern set by their colors. The bookshop having an autumn theme with the cozy second floor with its simple but affective set up and pleasant little balcony area that invites one to set up the figures to enjoy a nice cup of coffee. While the little town house is occupied by a small family and giving a feeling of spring with the garden and little collection of plants here and there. While there is only one actual lego book (wonderful piece btw with a great pun) the shelves of the book store are still great for what they are. This set has made a wonderful decoration for my own bookshelf and will remain intact for many years to come.

Awesome Set!

I bought this set for myself as my first LEGO creator set. It was a really fun build with cool details, and it took me less than six hours to build. I love the detail on the outside and inside, and I like staring at it, enjoying its beauty. The colors of the bookshop and apartment look really nice together. Since the back of the bookshop seemed a little barren, I added a few pieces of greenery from the LEGO Xtra Botanical Accessories, item #40376. I wish the apartment had come with a bathroom or a kitchen, but I understand why LEGO didn’t add those. Something I feel like LEGO could have added easily were a few more actual books. Even though they have you build bookshelves with what look like books, they aren’t actual book pieces. It’s not like there isn’t much room for normal books, as there is still space where you put the ‘Moby Bricks’ book. All the same, I really enjoy this set and I would recommend it to anyone who’s interested in books, LEGOs, or modular buildings.

Bookworms, unite! We could all use a little extra green in our lives, so it's great to see that you gave the bookshop a unique touch.
Having a bathroom would have been great for those long reading hours, but we wanted to make sure there's a fireplace to keep you warm. :)

Great set!

I had been desperately hoping Lego would make another set which breaks apart like the pet shop, and here it is! This two piece design makes it much easier for me to display my city pieces on my bookshelves.
I split the assembly up over several days to avoid burn out and to get the most bang for my buck. While a fairly simple build, the details were fantastic and i loved all the custom printed bricks. My one complaint is that i wish there were more books in the book shop. I would have loved a shop filled with bookshelves.

I loved this so much and had so much fun building! This was my first purchase and I have already purchased another creator kit. I'm pretty sure I will continue to buy these kits. The directions were easy to follow and I found the build easy as well. I understand some Lego fans wanting a challenge but I think they should look at other Lego products for that because to me this is relaxing and fun. I wouldn't want to spend a lot of money for something stressful. I am so glad I found this. I hope the Parisian diner comes back!! I read other reviews and because this was my first experience with kit building i cannot speak to the size of this one compared to others. I will say I wouldn't have minded something larger for the price and the spaces are somewhat small for the Lego people. I do agree with another reviewer I would have liked to have seen more interior spaces to design for the apartment portion and more books for the bookstore. Overall I truly enjoyed this. Thank you so much Lego!!

I do so love this bookstore. My absolute singular complaint is that in order to see the beautiful inside, you have to take it apart somewhat. If this swung open kind of like the Simpsons House does, it would get five stars from me.
