Fun, little townhouses

I personally enjoyed building this and I quite love the detail of the exterior roofing. The bookshop interior could have had a bit more detail to it, but the flooring kind of makes up for it. My kids enjoy playing with this addition to our city.
I would recommend this to a friend!

By far the least amazing modular building set

Bookshop is my 10th modular set.

Before the purchase I was aware the review of this product is not as amazing, when I finish the last brick of this set, I understood why:
1. It feels small.
2. Building technique is repetitive.
3. Only 2 floors vs most 3 floors for other modular sets.

Overall, this set is only valuable to me because it's a modular set. If I didn't want to collect them I would not bother to get this one.
But keep in mind, I only made those comments based on comparison to the high quality products lego has made, this set is still cool if you are purchase for someone new to lego.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Lots of missing pieces

I bought this set for my son who is an expert builder and he has stumbled over 30 pieces which is an ridiculous amount of missing pieces for the amount that i paid for the set, I bought this at a physical store so I don’t know if I can get a refund, get better Lego.

Disappointing experience/nothing stands out

Having built several lego modular building sets, I'm very disappointed with the bookstore. The building experience was quite boring, since every single detail that was used to be in the 'Parisian restaurant' or 'assembly square' was absent in this set. In order for two buildings to be side by side in this bookstore set, many details of the interior have been eliminated, making this set seemed to be designed in rush/carelessness.
I was really hoping for the 'wow' factor after completing this set, but instead, it felt like 'errrrrr that's it?'
Hope Lego could come up with more quality modular building set consider the price and passion fans pay for it.
Hope in the future, it won't be just 'i'm getting the modular building sets just cuz i want to collect them all', but rather 'this is much better/as good as the last set I got and that's why i'm getting it.'

Missing LOTS of pieces

My family has many LEGO kits, this is the first time we’ve ever had missing pieces. This kit is missing so many it can’t even be built. My son and I are very disappointed. These toys are too expensive to hassle with missing parts. I tried to email LEGO and got nothing but error messages. Do NOT buy this kit!

Great, But Not Perfected

To start off the modular series is one of my favorite running series there is. If you are into these advance builds the Bookshop is a must to add to the collection. That said it’s time for some constructive criticism. Many people have brought these points up in previous reviews, but I’m going to pretend like this is the first review they’re receiving. Since this set’s focus is the bookshop I was a bit let down there was only one book in the set. There are many faux books, but even for a small book shop there is not nearly enough of those. I was let down by the interior of the buildings, seemed to lack the character I’m used to seeing in Lego builds. While the room upstairs in the bookshop is small it felt so weird to have a bed and an animal cage, just kinda thrown in there randomly. The exterior for the bookshop is great in my opinion and the birch tree is perfect for the set. Onto the townhouse! This was the more fun build to me. The colors are great and the aesthetics are spot on, especially with the roof detail. The house itself was a bit strange having no kitchen or bathroom and still being a house. I felt like it should have moved deeper into the baseplate to accommodate those items. The height, though shorter, is okay for me. Really wish I could give this one the last star, but for once Lego seemed to miss the mark by a touch.

12 months wait for Meh.

Like most of us, I have been waiting excited for the new Modular Building. With the reveal of the new set I was already a bit disappointed as it wasn't looking like something hat WOWs me.
Collecting the series, of course, I bought it anyway and was even more disappointed when I only found simple building techniques. No challenge at all and way to simple for LEGO Creator Expert.
I am worried for more disappointment in this series as LEGO seems to appeal to younger customers for this series with simple buildings. This set has made the 12 months wait until the next set is released much easier. Unfortunately, no excitement for the upcoming 2021 set for now.
Collecting the series, of course, I bought it anyway and was even more disappointed when I only found simple building techniques. No challenge at all and way to simple for LEGO Creator Expert.

Okay, so this set is really cool and very detailed. It had lots of fun spots and rooms and was fun to build. I only think that there should've been more bags with all those pieces. But other than that, it is amazing. I really recommend this build and get it before it's gone.
